Stride Presents at NFX Guild Demo Day and Receives Enthusiastic Investor Response Sept 13, 2017
Company joins 13 other top startups and presents to top tech investors, sharing fast growth in a $52 Billion travel market, overlooked by industry incumbents.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA September 13th, 2017
Today, Travelstride was among 14 top marketplace startups to present at the NFX Guild Demo Day at the Computer History Museum in Palo Alto in front of hundreds of top venture and angel investors.
The NFX Guild is a highly specialized firm, focusing solely on early stage startups that have network effects core to their business. Run by industry veterans, the program teaches growth hacking, speed of innovation and execution and is designed to help raise each company’s performance to the highest level while building defensibility into the core model.
The elite program invests in only the top startups to each class. Often compared with the older, larger accelerator Y Combinator, NFX prides itself on its small class sizes and deep interactions between the partners and the entrepreneurs.
NFX’s managing partners are James Currier, Pete Flint, and Gigi Levy-Weiss.
Currier co-founded Tickle in 1999, one of the first successful user generated companies. He is a Silicon Valley leader in growth and network effects and a key mentor to many of today’s top startups.
Flint is the co-founder of Trulia, which exited for several billion dollars. He was also part of the founding team at Lastminute.com, one of Europe’s top travel startups. He regularly lectures at Stanford Business School.
Levy-Weiss is the foremost technology angel investor in Israel. He is a two-time CEO, board member, and super-angel, and has also been successful as startup founder.
The intensive 3 month NFX Guild program culminated in today’s presentation in front of hundreds of venture investors at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA.
Stride’s comprehensive meta search model for finding expert planned travel experiences around the world received an enthusiastic response from attendees. Investors were impressed with the business model and strong product market fit Stride demonstrated. Other startups presenting touched sectors ranging from the health industry to the entertainment industry.
Gavin Delany, Stride’s co-founder and CEO says, “Being a part of NFX Guild was truly a company accelerating experience and it was great to share Stride’s vision and progress with some of the world’s most forward thinking investors. It was gratifying to see many investors appreciate Stride’s accomplishments and recognize the value of Stride’s strategy and model.”
Since launching in 2016, Stride has grown into the largest metasearch site for tour and active vacation packages, featuring the widest selection of expert planned trips - nearly 19,000 trips to 130+ countries around the world.
