Perfect – because we’ve discovered a gorgeous ocean-front resort with rustic, yet luxurious, private rooms cooled by the tropical ocean breeze and minutes from the lush banana, mango and palm trees of the coastal jungle. When you are not relaxing in paradise, this stretch of Mexico’s Pacific coastline (just 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, but a world away) has excellent beginner and intermediate surf breaks, making it the ideal place for a Mexico surf camp. Hone your surf skills or try surfing for the first time with our friendly, experienced instructors. Just a short non-stop flight from many North American cities, you can be here in 3 or 4 hours, in plenty of time for a sunset swim and a margarita! Our Mexico surf camp provides daily surf lessons as well as the option for yoga classes most afternoons. You can also visit several excellent surf breaks in the region, including some that can be accessed by boat or hiking only. When you’re not surfing or stretching, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel, swim, kayak, whale watch, relax, and eat delicious, freshly-caught fish overlooking the beach. If you are looking for an unforgettable time surfing in Mexico, then our Mexico surf camp is perfect for you! Set out on a city tour and learn the history surrounding the stunning sights of one of the biggest cities in the Americas. Wander the stalls of Mercado de San Juan and be overwhelmed by the incredible array of produce on display. Venture out of the city and experience the incredible Aztec ruins of Teotihuacan with a knowledgeable local guide, then be welcomed into a family home to share some authentic dishes bursting with local flavours. In your spare time, simply chill out with a tequila or two and let this city’s ambience take over. |
Day 1: Airport Pick-up & Relax
Meals: Dinner
Our Mexico surf camp begins at Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta. We’ll take a 45 minute scenic drive to get to your beautiful accommodations for the next six nights. Depending on when your flight arrives, you’ll have time to kick back by the pool, take a swim, and enjoy a margarita. In the evening, we’ll gather for a delicious welcome dinner overlooking the ocean.
Day 2: Surf Lessons Begin!
Meals: Breakfast
We start the day with a light breakfast and head to our excellent beach break in Sayulita for our first surf lesson lasting a full two hours. After surfing, reward yourself with lunch – we recommend the freshly caught fish or shrimp served right on the beach! The rest of the day is yours to explore the village, hike along the coast, snorkel, rent a sea kayak, or kick back on the beach and enjoy the sunshine.
Day 3: Surfing
Meals: Breakfast
Your surf vacation in Mexico continues with a delicious breakfast. Again we head to Sayulita Beach for a 2-hour surf lesson. In the afternoon, it’s your choice to relax poolside, take a dip in the ocean, or enjoy a soothing massage. How will you ever choose? (If you want a massage or other spa service, please book directly through the resort.)
Day 4: Boat Trip to Marine National Park
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Today we’ll take a break from surfing and head out on a boat expedition to a marine national park, providing a great opportunity to whale watch from December to March. We’ll swim and snorkel in pristine waters off the boat amidst stunning jungle and beach scenery. After our trip, we will enjoy a late lunch at a beachfront restaurant in Punta de Mita.
Day 5: Surfing & Swimming at Stunning Beach
Meals: Breakfast
We’ll start the day as usual with a delicious breakfast. Today we’ll head down the coast to explore a more secluded beach and surf break. Tonight you might like to head into Sayulita for dinner.
Day 6: Final Surf Lesson
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Today we’ll head to another local spot for your final day of surfing. If you were a complete beginner at the beginning of the week, by now you’ll have learned to paddle with ease, to catch unbroken waves, to stand up on your board, and perhaps to even turn along the wave as you surf. If you already knew how to surf, our instructors will have helped you to develop your surfing technique and improve your confidence. If you weren’t a passionate surfer before the trip began, you most certainly will be by now. Tonight we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner of fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine.
Day 7: Your custom surf camp in Mexico is over!
Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy a lazy morning by the beach or a massage before we drop you off at the airport in Puerto Vallarta.
Day 1 Mexico City
Bienvenidos! Welcome to Mexico City. Check in to your hotel, where a welcome pack will be waiting for you. This will include all the information you need for your Short Break Adventure. If you have free time today, why not venture into the streets and check out this incredible city. Modern meets ancient in Mexico City – one of the world's largest urban centres. Although crowded and smoggy, D.F. (Distrito Federal) offers a great variety of impressive museums, galleries and architecture, along with exciting night life and delicious street food. Why not head to the Zocalo – the city's huge central square – to see Aztec ruins and colonial architecture or relax in one of the many parks, plazas and gardens.
Day 2 Mexico City
Pick up the rest of your travel mates today and head out of town by public transport, experiencing how locals move about this crowded city. Hop off at the archaeological area of the Teotihuacan pyramids and explore the grounds. Visit the Moon Pyramid, the Calzada de los Muertos (Dead Pass), and the 63-m-high Sun Pyramid, the tallest and most spectacular in the area. Next, head to a nearby village and stop by a family-run business where you’ll learn about obsidian – the material that the Teotihuacan people use to make their tools, idols and decorations. You’ll also get to sip pulque (an ancient sacred drink), considered by some as the great-grandfather of tequila! After working up an appetite, be welcomed into a family home for a memorable lunch where you’ll be served authentic dishes bursting with local flavours and plenty of Mexican hospitality. After lunch, head back to Mexico City.
Day 3 Mexico City
Have breakfast this morning and then take some time to refresh and pack up, before checking out of your hotel. You can leave your luggage here this morning, before heading out on today’s final adventures. Your guide will pick you up from the hotel, at 10 am, for an epic journey of exploration through Mexico’s incredible capital. Let your expert guide bring 700 years of history back to life as you uncover little-known facts and hidden hotspots, from Aztecs to art, in one of the biggest cities in the Americas. Head into the heart of Mexico City – the Plaza de la Constitucion – and hear about the remains of an ancient city located under the modern metropolis. Visit iconic sites like the Templo Mayor and the Metropolitan Cathedral – the biggest cathedral on the continent – and see one of Diego Rivera's most famous murals at Museo Mural. Head to the fresh food stalls at Mercado San Juan and shop for snacks and souvenirs. Wander through the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) and when you’re finished, your guide will lead you back to your hotel, where your trip will come to an end.
