Itinerary: Thailand Uncovered

Day 1 : International outbound flight

Day 2 : Bangkok

Your guide will be waiting for you at Bangkok Airport and will accompany you on your private transfer to your boutique hotel, tucked away down a narrow soi (street).

Day 3 : Bangkok

Today you will have a private guided tour of Bangkok visiting the capital's key attractions: the Grand Palace, Wat Po (home to the reclining Buddha) and Jim Thompson's house. You will get to use Bangkok's different forms of public transport - the Skytrain which winds its way through the skyscrapers and shopping malls, the public taxi boat, a long-tail boat and of course the infamous Thai tuk tuk! This is a fun excursion that will give you a fantastic insight into the capital as well as the people that call Bangkok home.

Day 4 : Bangkok

Today you will have the unique experience of a two day cruise on a converted rice barge along the Chao Phraya River. The cruise is a great way to observe rural life and traditions along the river. In the afternoon you will stop to visit a local market and will moor for the night by a Buddhist temple in a tranquil village.

Day 5 : Kanchanaburi

After visiting a traditional village, home to a Mon community who moved to the area from Burma in the 19th Century, the barge will continue onto Ayuthaya where you will disembark near the impressive Bang Pa-In Summer Palace.Your driver and guide will be waiting for you and you will have a two hour private road transfer to your comfortable safari-style camp located by the River Kwai near Kanchanaburi. During your stay both breakfast and dinner is included.

Day 6 : Kanchanaburi

This area is renowned for its time during the 2nd World War when Allied POWs were used by the Japanese to build the Burma-Thailand Railway. You will gain an insight into this history with a private guided tour of the main points of interest: the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai and Hell Fire Pass. The tour includes a boat journey up the River Kwai and a train journey on the infamous Death Railway.

Day 7 : Khao Yai National Park

From Kanchanaburi you will travel across the central region of Thailand, with your guide, towards the country's oldest National Park, Khao Yai. The journey will take approximately five hours.

Day 8 : Khao Yai National Park

Today you will enjoy a private guided trek in the Khao Yai National Park to enjoy its incredible scenery and explore the flora and fauna. Monkeys and hornbills are often seen and the park is home to wild elephants.
