Day 1 Cape Town
Sawubona! Welcome to South Africa. When you arrive in Cape Town, you’ll be met by your local operator who’ll transfer you to your hotel. With its stunning coastline, dominating mountain and modern cityscape, Cape Town is one of Africa's most appealing cities. With vineyards on its doorstep, adventure activities around every corner and plenty of restaurants and cafes to while away the time, Cape Town is a very easy city to spend some extra time in. If you arrive early, maybe hop inside the revolving cable car and set off on one of hundreds of hiking trails that criss cross Table Mountain to its summit, stopping off the admire the views of Camps Bay below. You could also visit the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Robben Island, and the Cape Point Nature Reserve to admire some local flora and fauna.
Day 2 Cape Town - Walking Tour & Cape Point Peninsula
Today, you'll drive along the peninsula and see the many natural highlights of the area before retracing 350 years of Cape Town’s history on a two-hour walking tour of the city. Starting on the Atlantic Seaboard, take in natural sights like Maiden's Cove, Sentinel Lookout and the Cape of Good Hope in Table Mountain Nature Reserve. Look out for local wildlife, walk up to the old lighthouse at Cape Point and see the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Carry on to Simonstown, the home of the South African Navy, and to Boulders Beach to see the African penguins. See the prison where Nelson Mandela spent six years of his life then learn about the history of apartheid as you arrive into Cape Town's centre. Gain valuable insight into the effects of racism and discrimination on the lives of modern-day South Africans. See historical sites like the Castle of Good Hope (the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa), significant slavery sites such as the Iziko Slave Lodge Museum, the District Six Museum and the parliament buildings where apartheid laws were made and later repealed. End the day with a photo stop in Bo-Kaap.
Day 3 Cape Town - Winelands
Spend a full day travelling through Cape Winelands, visiting both old and new estates for a taste of the region’s best wines. You'll start off in the Fairview Estate for a wine and cheese tasting. On the slopes of the Paarl Mountain, this working farm is world-renowned for its wines, artisanal cheeses and the iconic goat tower. After, visit the Groot Drakenstein prison where Nelson Mandela was released in February 1990. Then, it's into the hills to Franschhoek. The view of the valley from here is lined with rows of manicured vineyards. Soak up the scenery and enjoy a glass of the region's finest from Rickety Bridge in the La Cabriere Estate. You can take the chance to lunch at the estate’s gourmet restaurant or visit one of the village’s many cafés instead. This afternoon you'll visit the college town of Stellenbosch to wander the boulevards and town centre before heading to your final activity – a cellar tour at Hidden Valley Estate, which sits on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. You'll indulge in a chocolate and wine pairing tasting experience to elevate your time here. Later, return to the city for a free evening.
Day 4 Cape Town
Today you have free time to discover everything that Cape Town has to offer. You can admire the view from the top of Table Mountain, go hiking if you're craving something more active or head off to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners were imprisoned. Maybe take in the atmosphere of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, wine and dine your way through the city or take a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing tour around the city. Tonight, why not unwind with a group dinner and another few glasses of the region’s best vino.
Day 5 Cape Town
Your adventure comes to an end today. There are no activities planned for the final day and you can depart the accommodation at any time after check out. Additional accommodation can be booked if you’d like to extend your time in Cape Town, just speak to your booking agent ahead of time.
Day 1: ARRIVE DAKAR, SENEGAL
Upon arrival at the Blaise Diagne International Airport, proceed through immigration formalities, claim luggage and clear custom. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Today’s activities will be determined by your arrival time. You may relax and unwind or start the tour of Dakar and vicinity.

Day 2: DAKAR – GOREE ISLAND – DAKAR
After breakfast, we depart the hotel to the Gare Maritime Port where we go on a 20 minutes sail on a ferry to Goree Island.
The tour includes a visit to the ethnographic museum and a lecture by the curator on the history of the Goree, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon return to Dakar and go on a city tour. Visit the colorful markets including Tilen Market, famous for a variety of medicinal herbs and traditional healers. Stop by Dakar’s grand Mosque, the Presidential Palace, and the Artisans market.
We return to the hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Overnight at L’Ndiambour
Day 3: DAKAR – PINK LAKE – ST. LOUIS
After breakfast, we depart to Saint Louis located in the north of Senegal. Saint Louis is West Africa’s first French Settlement and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enroute, visit Pink Lake, a rare natural phenomenon caused by a unique combination of microorganism and high concentration of salts which gives the lake its unique pink color. Interact with the women harvesting salt. Visit the nearby Fulani village where you may be welcomed by the Chief.
Continue to Saint Louis, Senegal’s former colonial capital, located in the middle of Senegal River. Early evening, embark on a cultural and historical tour of Saint Louis and explore the narrow streets flanked by multi-colored houses with carved wooden balconies and verandas and stop by the vibrant fishing village of Guet Ndar.

Overnight at Mermoz
Day 4: ST. LOUIS – DJOUDJ – ST. LOUIS
After a refreshing night and a sumptuous breakfast, visit the Djoudj National Bird Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site), which is one of the most important bird sanctuaries in the world. Situated on a major palearctic migratory route, this park is a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Some of the world’s greatest concentrations of white pelicans and amigos can be seen here: up to 10,000 species. Enjoy a pirogue ride to better view the many species of cormorants, pelicans, ducks, flamingos, various songbirds and more. You may also see crocodiles, boas, boars and other wildlife. Complete your city tour of Saint Louis.

Day 5: ST. LOUIS – TOUBA – DELTA DU SALOUM
After breakfast, we travel to Sine Saloum located in a beautiful wild nature reserve. On the way we stop to visit Touba, the holy city of Mouride brotherhood. Continue to Ndagane where you will enjoy a picturesque cruise through the mangrove lake. Transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Day 6: DELTA DU SALOUM – JOAL FADIOUTH – MBOUR – SALY
After breakfast, depart to Joal Fadiouth visiting en route the central market of Mbour. Continue to Joal, being famous partly because it is the birth place of Senegal’s first President Leopold Senghor.
Visit the market and observe the lively daily activities, then visit Senghor museum before continuing to the traditional Serere village of Fadiouth where you will see the cathedral, the sacred Baobab tree and the famous cemetery where Muslims, Christians and Animists are buried side by side. Proceed to Saly Beach Resort with stops at small villages. Arrive in time to enjoy the beach before nightfall.

Day 7: SALY – BANDIA – SALY
This morning, we travel to Bandia National Park, an ecological jewel not far from Dakar. Bandia Game Reserve is located in a 3500-hectare wide conservation area. Embark on an unforgettable Safari where you will see numerous animal species native to Senegal including: buffalos, antelopes, impala gazelles, monkeys, tortoises and crocodile in addition to white rhinoceros, kudu, elands, cape moose, giraffes, ostriches, zebras. Stop by the crocodile pool where animals come to drink and buffalos wallow in the mud. You will see numerous bird species including the small hornbills, grey heron, eagles, blackbirds and king fishers.
Bandia wildlife reserve has succeeded in reintroducing much of the marvelous native flora and fauna that are unique to West Africa and had gradually disappeared due to demographic pressure and poaching. A cultural experience you may not want to miss is discovering the tombs for revered Griots created under some of the Baobab trees. Griots were formerly regarded as outcasts, story tellers, drummers, singers and were often buried inside the hollow of these Baobabs. Early evening return to Saly Beach Resort.
