There’s a reason they filmed Game of Thrones in Croatia. It’s spectacular. Croatia is a nation of islands, more than a thousand islands to be exact, full of keys and peninsulas that dot the waters along the Adriatic River. On a clear day they say you can see the Italian coast across the Adriatic. Its as rich in wine as it is in topography and beauty, in fact, California’s beloved zinfandel grape was discovered in Croatia. We would like to introduce wine lovers to this new wine frontier by guiding you on this exciting adventure with many winery visits blended with cultural and culinary experiences. Croatia has two primary wine regions, Primorska Hrvatska (“Coastal Croatia”) and Kontinentalna Hrvatska (“Continental Croatia”). The wineries in these regions spread northeast from the shores of the Dalmation Coast to the floodplains of the Danube River. |
Day 1:

Arrival into Split. Your driver will meet you outside of baggage claim and customs and transfer you to your hotel, located in the heart of the city.
Day 2:
Exeter Services: Half-Day Guide
This morning, take a walking tour of the historic district of Split, to include the historic Diocletian Palace Complex. The Diocletian Palace is also on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, and the Roman emperor Diocletian chose to spend the last 20 years of his life here. Residents of Split still live in 17th century old towers and houses, pray at the churches and shop at the markets – a living, breathing piece of history!
Afternoon is at leisure.

Today is at leisure to enjoy this beautiful city. We recommend visiting the Ivan Mestrovic Art Gallery or taking a short drive from Split to Trogir – one of the most romantic places in Croatia. Alternatively indulge in something more active such as kayaking or river rafting.
