5 days - Toast the New Year's Eve in Copenhagen |
Day 1 Welcome to Copenhagen, Denmark!
Touchdown at Copenhagen Airport and make your way to your hotel. Welcome to a city run through with canals and dotted with mouthwatering bakeries. Copenhagen makes for a magical getaway, so be sure to see everything you can! Check into your hotel to drop off your bags, and get your first taste of this culinary hot spot. Find a trendy smorrebrod joint or indulge in the highly popular organic hot dogs available all over.
Day 2 Copenhagen
Enjoy a lovely tour through the majestic Grand Canal of Copenhagen. You'll get to sit back and relax as sights drift by. Then you'll have the rest of the day to do as you like. Maybe you'll seek out the famous Mermaid Statue for a selfie, or perhaps the luscious Tivoli Gardens call to you instead.
Day 3 Copenhagen
Today is yours to do as you like! You may want to rent a bike to tour through the cyclist-friendly city and explore sights like the Commune of Christina, the Rosenborg Castle, or Stroget, one of the largest pedestrian malls in the world. Explore the various little restaurants surrounding Stoget, offering wonderful cuisine. Be sure to take the time to wander through the bageri, or bakeries, all filled with delicious-smelling pastries. You should give the tebirkes a taste while you're there!
Day 4 Copenhagen - Stockholm, Sweden
Bid Copenhagen's canals farewell and trade them for Stockholm's waterways and stunning architecture. Board your train and make way for the capital of Sweden for the next leg of your adventure.
Day 5 Stockholm
Embark on your second breathtaking canal tour, this time of Stockholm's Royal Canals. Explore the waterways that leave the city and bob by beautiful buildings until you reach the Djurgarden Canal, famous for its view over the whole city. The rest of the day is yours. You might walk the halls of Stockholm Palace or stroll through Skansen, an open-air museum and zoo, lined with fresh farm stands as well.
Day 6 Stockholm
Today is yours to do as you like! You may want to head to Sweden's oldest and most popular square, Gamla Stan, situated in the heart of the labyrinthine medieval old town. Pick out cafes to indulge in a hot chocolate and over sized cinnamon roll, or pick out something savory like soups or pies. With a wide array of meatball restaurants serving up the country's famous Swedish meatballs, stunning saunas, and wild clubs dotting the city, finding entertainment isn't difficult. From throwing in with the neon lights to perusing the panoramic art gallery, Stockholm has something for everyone.
Day 7 Depart Sweden
Pack away your souvenirs, seek out a last taste of the lovely cuisine, make your way to the airport and catch your flight home!
Day 1 - Arrive Copenhagen
Arrive Copenhagen at any time and check into your hotel in the centre of town. Go for a leisurely walk and enjoy twilight at Nyhavn with it's celebratory feel and atmosphere.
Day 2 - Fine dine in Copenhagen, enjoy the season's sales & celebrations.
Copenhagen has a long history, and many great attractions and sights - you will never run out of something to see or to do. The city is small and cosy, an ideal way to explore the city is by foot, and public transport. In the centre of town you can find Tivoli, a fun park that caters well for both adults and children, and is a nice half day activity. An evening beer at the pier in Nyhavn (New Haven) is not to be missed. Buy a few beers in a nearby shop and sit amongst the locals watching life go by with the backdrop of beautiful old wooden boats. For those with more sophisticated tastes, they can enjoy a meal at one of the many excellent seafood restaurants along the pier. If you are a gourmet food lover, be sure to book ahead for your dinner tonight. Copenhagen hosts some of the best restaurants in the Nordic region. As recent as in 2014, Restaurant Noma was awarded the World’s Best Restaurant Award.
Day 3 - Transfer to Kokkedal Castle & dress for the evening. Toast the New Year's Eve with mouthwatering food & wine in good company.
You will get picked up from your hotel in central Copenhagen and transferred to Kokkedal castle. You will have the afternoon to enjoy the tranquility of the area before getting ready for a celebratory and traditional Danish New Year's Eve packed with entertainment and mouthwatering food & wine in good company.
Day 4 - New Year's day at Kokkedal - enjoy the spa by Sodashi after a long brunch.
You will have a leisurely morning with a New Year's day brunch and have the entire day to relax in spa by Sodashi or explore the area surrounding this magnificent 250-year old castle. In the evening you will enjoy a 4-course set menu in the Castle restaurant. The Castle Restaurant emphasizes seasonal simplicity, flavour and refined culinary craftsmanship.
Day 5 - Return to Copenhagen
You will be transferred back to Copenhagen after breakfast.
