5 days - Toast the New Year's Eve in Copenhagen

Itinerary: Copenhagen & Stockholm by Rail

Day 1 Welcome to Copenhagen, Denmark!

Touchdown at Copenhagen Airport and make your way to your hotel.

Welcome to a city run through with canals and dotted with mouthwatering bakeries. Copenhagen makes for a magical getaway, so be sure to see everything you can! Check into your hotel to drop off your bags, and get your first taste of this culinary hot spot. Find a trendy smorrebrod joint or indulge in the highly popular organic hot dogs available all over.

Day 2 Copenhagen

Enjoy a lovely tour through the majestic Grand Canal of Copenhagen. You'll get to sit back and relax as sights drift by. Then you'll have the rest of the day to do as you like. Maybe you'll seek out the famous Mermaid Statue for a selfie, or perhaps the luscious Tivoli Gardens call to you instead.

Day 3 Copenhagen

Today is yours to do as you like! You may want to rent a bike to tour through the cyclist-friendly city and explore sights like the Commune of Christina, the Rosenborg Castle, or Stroget, one of the largest pedestrian malls in the world. Explore the various little restaurants surrounding Stoget, offering wonderful cuisine.

Be sure to take the time to wander through the bageri, or bakeries, all filled with delicious-smelling pastries. You should give the tebirkes a taste while you're there!

Day 4 Copenhagen - Stockholm, Sweden

Bid Copenhagen's canals farewell and trade them for Stockholm's waterways and stunning architecture. Board your train and make way for the capital of Sweden for the next leg of your adventure.

Day 5 Stockholm

Embark on your second breathtaking canal tour, this time of Stockholm's Royal Canals. Explore the waterways that leave the city and bob by beautiful buildings until you reach the Djurgarden Canal, famous for its view over the whole city.

The rest of the day is yours. You might walk the halls of Stockholm Palace or stroll through Skansen, an open-air museum and zoo, lined with fresh farm stands as well.

Day 6 Stockholm

Today is yours to do as you like! You may want to head to Sweden's oldest and most popular square, Gamla Stan, situated in the heart of the labyrinthine medieval old town. Pick out cafes to indulge in a hot chocolate and over sized cinnamon roll, or pick out something savory like soups or pies.

With a wide array of meatball restaurants serving up the country's famous Swedish meatballs, stunning saunas, and wild clubs dotting the city, finding entertainment isn't difficult. From throwing in with the neon lights to perusing the panoramic art gallery, Stockholm has something for everyone.

Day 7 Depart Sweden

Pack away your souvenirs, seek out a last taste of the lovely cuisine, make your way to the airport and catch your flight home!

Itinerary: A Royal New Year's Celebration

Day 1 - Arrive Copenhagen

Arrive Copenhagen at any time and check into your hotel in the centre of town. Go for a leisurely walk and enjoy twilight at Nyhavn with it's celebratory feel and atmosphere.

Day 2 - Fine dine in Copenhagen, enjoy the season's sales & celebrations.

Copenhagen has a long history, and many great attractions and sights - you will never run out of something to see or to do. The city is small and cosy, an ideal way to explore the city is by foot, and public transport.

In the centre of town you can find Tivoli, a fun park that caters well for both adults and children, and is a nice half day activity. An evening beer at the pier in Nyhavn (New Haven) is not to be missed. Buy a few beers in a nearby shop and sit amongst the locals watching life go by with the backdrop of beautiful old wooden boats. For those with more sophisticated tastes, they can enjoy a meal at one of the many excellent seafood restaurants along the pier.
