This 7-night, self-drive vacation is sure to blow you away! Get swept up in the romance of Venice, the beauty of San Marino, and the history of Rome! Your adventure begins in Venice. Spend a few nights enjoying this charming city. Take a walking tour, shop, sip wine, and so much more. Visit Saint Mark's Basilica, Rialto Bridge, and Grand Canal before it's time to leave! Then, you'll pick up your rental car and drive to San Marino to continue your trip! This mountainous microstate is one of the oldest republics in the world. There are three peaks worth visiting here that all provide incredible views: Guaita, Monte Titano, and De La Fratta. Wine and dine your way through the city, taking note of the spectacular architecture as you go! Your final drive brings you to iconic Rome. There is so much to do and see here! You'll have use of a 48-hour Hop-on/Hop-off bus pass that will enable you to get around the city with ease. Visit the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica, and dine with fabulous views of the Colosseum! |
Day 1: Rome
Accommodation: Starhotel Rome or similar.
Today you will explore Vatican museums, see St.Peters Basilica and marvel at masterpieces of Michelangelo and Bernini. Later in the afternoon enjoy a walking tour to see Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain, admire beautiful Piazza Navona and exterior of the historic Pantheon.
Day 2-3: Florence
Accommodation: AC Florence by Marriott or similar.
Enjoy walking tour around Florence, see the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, the medieval Ponte Vecchio and the Medici Chapels. Additionally you can travel to the wineries located nearby.
Day 4-5: Cinque Terre
Accommodation: NH La Spezia or similar.
Explore the amazing towns of Cinque Terre (5 lands), marvel the spectacular views of small towns of Manarola, Portofino, Portovenere and dine at the seafront restaurant enjoying italian pizza/or pasta or local seafood with wine.
Day 6-7: Nice/Monaco
Find out why many artists found their inspiration from the Mediterranean landscapes of Nice. You will have a tour to Monaco and enough free time to explore the old town of Nice, beaches and museums and then go on to visit the rest of the Riviera.
Day 8-9: Barcelona
Today you will fly to Barcelona, exploring this beautiful city, visiting Sagrada Familia, afterwards explore the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas, Parc Güell and in the evening go to try tapas and Spanish wine.
Day 1 Welcome to Venice!
Upon arrival, locate your transfer driver that will bring you to your hotel in Venice. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring this stunning city.
Day 2 Venice
Today, you'll experience the romantic city of Venice on a walking tour! Then, spend the rest of the day exploring on your own. Find a charming restaurant to dine on delicious Italian food as you sip wine and watch a beautiful sunset!
Day 3 Venice - San Marino
Today, you'll say "Ciao!' to Venice. Head to the airport to pick up your rental car and drive to San Marino! The drive will take approximately three hours. Consider stopping in Bologna for lunch on the way! Arrive at your hotel, check in, and start exploring San Marino! This city built on a mountain offers spectacular views and historic architecture.
Day 4 San Marino
Utilize the day to explore more of San Marino today. You may want to visit Palazzo Pubblico and Basilica di San Marino! If you're hungry, try finding some delicious Italian food at one of the incredible restaurants in town.
Day 5 San Marino - Rome
Today you'll hop in your rental car again and drive to Rome! Consider a stop along the way in Perugia to break up the approximately four-hour drive. You'll drop off your rental car in the city center before making your way to your hotel. Check in and celebrate your arrival in amazing Rome!
Day 6 Rome
Continue sightseeing today using your 48-hour Hop-on/Hop-off Bus Pass! Be sure to stop at the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain to snap all the selfies!
Day 7 Rome
Today is the last full day of your vacation! We encourage you to make the most of your day by visiting Piazza Navona, Vatican City, Campo de Fiori Market, and as many other attractions as possible. Celebrate the end of your trip with a final Italian dinner complete with wine!
Day 8 Depart Italy
Today, enjoy a transfer to the airport, check in for your flight, and head home!
