This 11-day journey takes us through the fascinating regions of Northern Spain and Porto, Portugals third-largest city.
Itinerary: Spain and Portugal Adventure Tour

Day 1-2: Lisbon

 Accommodation: Novotel Lisboa or similar

Arrival at any time. Learn about important areas in Lisbon’s history as you explore its most interesting neighborhoods. Discover Chiado and Bairro Alto and admire the views from Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara. Ride the Eleléctrico tram and visit the Alfama district.

Day 2-4: Porto

Accommodation: Mercury Porto Centro or similar

Experience a walking tour through the streets of the historical center of Porto, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Marvel at the fantastic views of the Crystal Palace Gardens, walk along the famous Aliados Avenue, catch a glimpse of the Douro River from Louis I Bridge, descend down the narrow streets and staircases of the Miragaia neighborhood, learn about Porto's founding and formation.

Day 5-6: Madrid

Accommodation: Mercury Lupo de Vega or similar

 Enjoy a walking tour around this beautiful city, additionally visit the Prado Museum or Reina Sofia Museum where you will see the works of Picasso and Dali or ancient Toledo.

Day 6-7: Barcelona

 Today you will fly to Barcelona, exploring this beautiful city, visiting the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, and in the evening go to try tapas and Spanish wine. You will have free time to relax on the Barcelonetta beach or go shopping.

Itinerary: Northern Spain and Galicia
Day 1: MADRID (ARRIVAL)

On arrival at Madrid International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this vibrant city at your leisure. Overnight in Madrid

Day 2: MADRID (B)

This morning discover Madrid on a city tour; learn about the medieval origins of the city such as the Arabic fortress at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historical buildings. Drive through the courtesan district of the Hapsburgs characterized by Phillip II and its Renaissance and Baroque style buildings, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex town planning schemes of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. Contrast this with contemporary Madrid with areas such as the Gran Vía, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla and Parque del Oeste, as well as commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, the emblematic Las Ventas Bullring and the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium. A stop will be made at the famous “Hard Rock Café” to enjoy a free drink. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure to explore this wonderful city. Overnight in Madrid

Day 3: MADRID ZARAGOZA SAN SEBASTIAN(B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the coach terminal to catch the bus to Zaragoza where you will have free time to explore the Basilica of Our Lady of The Pilar, patroness of Hispanity and to stroll through the old streets of Zaragoza. In the afternoon we will continue on to San Sebastian, one of the most famous tourist destinations home to the International Film Festival. On arrival enjoy a panoramic city tour of this wonderful city, seeing the extraordinary landscape dominated by the bay and the magnificent La Concha Beach. Overnight in San Sebastian

Day 4: SAN SEBASTIAN BILBAO CASTRO URDIALES SANTANDER (B)

This morning continue on to Mount Igueldo for marvellous views of the city before continuing on to Bilbao for a panoramic tour and free time on the esplanade where the Guggenheim Museum is located; admire this modern architectural building before proceeding to the old fishing village of “Castro Urdiales”. Afterwards depart for Santander, a port city located between the sea and the mountains, well known for its Sardinero Beach, one of the best-known beaches in Spain. Overnight in Santander

Day 5: SANTANDER SANTILLANA COVADONGA OVIEDO (B)

After breakfast depart for Santillana, one of the most important historically artistic towns in Spain. Home to architectural treasures such as the Collegiate of Santa Juliana, a jewel of the Romanesque architecture in Cantabria. Continue on to Covadonga, where you will have free time to see the Sanctuary and the Grotto where you will see the patroness of Asturias our Lady of Covadonga. In the afternoon, depart to Oviedo, where you will see the beautiful Saint Maria de Naranco Church, a marvel of pre-Romanic Asturian architecture. Overnight in Oviedo

Day 6: OVIEDO - LUGO A CORUA (B)

After breakfasting our tour continues on in to the Galician region. We'll arrive at Lugo where you will have free time to explore the Roman remains that are still evident in this city declared a World Heritage. Next, we'll continue to La Coruna where we'll have a short panoramic tour along the main avenues of this fabulous town to admire the elegance of this city with its typical Galician architecture of glass house galleries. We will make a brief stop at one of the wonders of the world: the oldest working lighthouse, the “Tower of Hercules,” dating back to the roman period. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Overnight in A Coruna

Day 7: LA CORUA SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA (B)

We will head out after breakfast to Santiago de Compostela, declared a World Heritage city as it is one of the most important centers of Christian pilgrimages in Spain.  The city is located at the end of the Camino de Santiago route, built during the Roman Empire. Enjoy a tour of Santiago de Composetla visiting Obradoiro, the main square and the Cathedral dedicated to the Apostle Santiago. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure; explore the narrow cobblestone streets. Overnight in Santiago De Compostela   

Day 8: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA RIAS BAJAS LA TOJA VIGO (B)

This morning depart for one of the most marvellous areas of Galicia, the Rias Bajas (Spanish Fjords). Driving through this magnificent landscape we will arrive at La Toja Island, universally known for its spa. Enjoy some free time in La Toja before continuing on to Ria de Arosa, passing through Pontevedra before arriving in Vigo, located in the middle of the Rias Baixas. Overnight in Vigo

Day 9: VIGO VIANA DO CASTELO BRAGA - PORTO (B)

Following breakfast, we'll continue to Portugal; arriving first in Viana do Castelo, located between the mouth of the Mino River and Porto. On the way we will take a short break in Braga, Portugal’s third-largest city laced with ancient narrow lanes closed to vehicles, strewn with plazas and a splendid array of baroque churches. Afterwards continue on to Porto. Overnight in Porto

Day 10: PORTO SALAMANCA - MADRID (B)

This morning enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto; considered a World Heritage city. You will have the opportunity to admire the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara Church. Afterwards we will depart back across the Spanish border to Salamanca for a short stop with free time in this World Heritage university city filled with great architectural and artistic wealth. Continue on to Madrid. Overnight in Madrid 

Day 11: DAY 11/THU: MADRID(B)

Today you will be transferred back to Madrid International Airport for your onward flight.
