Ride the rails and take a journey to the heart of Eastern Washington and Wine Country. Enjoy the rugged Mountain views and Bavarian charms of Leavenworth. Grand vistas of the Columbia River, pioneer history, and world class wines await you in Walla Walla, Washington’s friendliest town. Sun-kissed Yakima Valley offers the largest variety of fresh grown produce in the Pacific Northwest – grapes for wine, hops for beer and fresh produce for your table. Scenic stops will offer you a taste of this region before we wind our way through the heavily wooded and volcanically formed Cascadia Range and back to beautiful Seattle. |
Spend an incredible 4 days hiking the highest mountains in New Hampshire, the Presidential Range, including the highest point in the Northeastern United States – the summit of Mount Washington. Discover ecologically diverse forests encompassing the White Mountains, high alpine ridges, and peaks where expansive views will take your breath away. Your leader will take you along the Appalachian Trail and across multiple iconic summits including Mounts Monroe, Mount Eisenhower, Mount Franklin, and Mount Pierce. This is your chance hike deep into the wilderness with an expert leader while spending your nights in authentic backcountry huts with all meals provided. |

From here, we will hike to the summit of Mount Washington, weather and fitness permitting. The trails are rugged, rocky, and steep but the breathtaking views from the top are well worth it. Tonight, enjoy a relaxing evening at your accommodation.
Day 3 White Mountains
After breakfast, we have the option to traverse some of the most famous Presidential Peaks, including Mount Monroe and Mount Eisenhower, and walk a section of the Appalachian Trail, the oldest maintained footpath in the United States. Depending on the fitness of the group, we can tackle the steep and rugged yet rewarding trails if we choose to summit the Presidential Mountains or opt for smoother and more level trails by traversing the ridgeline around the summits. Regardless, we’ll have a steep, scrambling, and exciting final kilometre as we descend into the trees to end our day at tonight’s hut – Mizpah Springs – where we will settle in for the evening and enjoy a meal prepared by the friendly staff.

After our final hike, your guide will prepare a delicious lunch back at the Appalachian Mountain Club Highland Center. After lunch, your trip will come to an end.
