ABC Trek is one of the busiest treks in the Annapurna region. It is a stunning trek to the heart of the Annapurna Mountain Range. We at Peregrine Tours have designed 14 days Annapurna Sanctuary Trek itinerary that is perfect for this short refreshing trek. This tour starts and ends in Kathmandu and packs incredible views, temples, hikes, food, and moments into every step along the way. Experience local living and ancient Magar culture in Panauti. Itinerary: Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

This is the day you arrive in Nepal. As you fly over the valley, you get to witness the unique beauty of Kathmandu Valley. As soon as you land and get through customs, a representative from Peregrine Tours will be there to welcome and greet you. You will be transferred to one of the luxurious hotels in the city. If you arrive early, you can visit the hub market of Thamel or you can go around some UNESCO site like Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and many more. Later, you will enjoy a beautiful dinner and plan for your trip ahead. This is the first day of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara

Meals: Breakfast

We leave early this day for Pokhara, a beautiful city full of lakes and scenic beauties. The town is overlooked by the Annapurna, Machapuchare and Dhaulagiri ranges. We get all our luggage ready and move early as possible to catch the best sights of the journey. We walk along with various villages and sceneries that fill our trip with colors. It’s 6-7 hours of drive from the city of Kathmandu. As we get to Pokhara, we might want to unwind and relax for the night. We might take a walk to the lakeside or spend some time with our fellow members from the trek to get to know them better. We will stay in a hotel by the Fewa Lake for the night. Enjoy the evening and peaceful view of the lake and get a good sleep - Ready yourselves for the steep journey to Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 3: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Hile

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Stay at Hile in a local tea house overnight

We take an early morning drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (42 km from Pokhara) towards the west. Nayapul is the start point to the treks in the region. Once we get there, our trekking begins. We walk across Modi Khola and head towards Hile after crossing it. Mt. Machapuchare shows us a glimpse of it as we make our way towards Hile. After walking for a few hours, through green valleys of rhododendron, tropical forests and a very few settlements, we get to Hile. As we get to our destination, we rest for the day and prepare for the next day ahead of us.

Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Stay for the night in Ghorepani

The fourth day of our Annapurna Base Camp trek, we have an early morning breakfast and start our trail. We pass by a small village named TikheDunga (1,577m). Then after, we adopt a village called Ulleri (2070m) which is extensively famous for a staircase of more than 3000 stone stairs. The same steep stairs contribute to give the name “Ulleri” to the village.

The village of Ulleri is inhabited by diverse tribes of Brahmin, Chhetris and Magars towards the upper hill. We ascend towards the uphill of Ulleri and after an arduous trek of about 5-6 hours, get to the beautiful village of Ghorepani. We pass various streams, rhododendron forests, and tiny villages to reach Ghorepani.

Ghorepani is a village inhabited by “Magars.” They have their unique culture of their own, and it is also a unique and productive experience for us to interact with them. The upper part of the village gives us the panoramic views to the ranges of Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains.

Day 5: Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today is going to be one of the most mesmerizing days of our Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We start our journey by foot early to catch the ever-beautiful sunrise in Poonhill. It is one of the first picks in Nepal to watch the sunrise. We enjoy the uninterrupted views of the Himalayan ranges turning orange. Majestic mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (6940m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and many more turn gleaming yellow as the sun pours its rays and colors the sky.

Then, we turn our way back to Ghorepani and head towards Tadapani. We climb up to Deurali from Ghorepani. After we reach the hilltop of the village of Tadapani, we stay our night there.

Day 6: Trek to Sinuwa

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After waking up at the beautiful village of Tadapani, we start our trail towards Sinuwa through Chomrong. It’s a descending trail through various Gurung settlements. We get to know and experience their unique and rich culture and hospitality. We continue our path through a lush Rhododendron forest that inspires you to continue this journey more than anything. The terrace fields on the laps of the mountains make your every step feel worthy. It’s a famous route for the bird lovers as it provides with a variety of species. After a beautiful trek, we arrive in Chomrong, the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary. However, Sinuwa awaits uphill. We climb to the village of Sinuwa and stay there for the night.

Day 7: Trek to Himalayan Hotel

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Early in the morning we have our breakfast and start our trail for Dovan village. We descend towards Chhomrong Khola accompanied by the natural scenic beauties. We will do 5-6 hours of hard trekking today. After crossing Chomrong Kholi, we ascend through a dense forest and trail downhill till we reach the village of Dovan. Many trekkers prefer Dovan for staying overnight. However, we set our sights for the best. We climb uphill for the Himalayan Hotel, where we stay for the night. We prepare ourselves for the ultimate climb that we are going to have tomorrow. The Annapurna Base Camp waits for us.

Day 8: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Stay overnight in the Annapurna Base Camp

We go for our ultimate destination this day. Starting early morning after breakfast, we ascend towards higher altitudes. As we move uphill, we notice fewer trees and vegetations. After trailing for some hours, we enter the Annapurna Sanctuary and then the Machapuchare Base Camp (3900m). We stop there, surrounded by the mountains to have our lunch.

After lunch, we trek for about 2 hours to reach the ultimate destination of our journey. The Annapurna Base Camp is here. There are very few things in life that give you satisfaction like being in the Annapurna Base Camp. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and few settlements downhill, this scene is pure magic. After that, the place is yours. Take your camera and start making memories that you can cherish for the rest of your life. Start exploring and communicating with the glaciers and mountains. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare, and many others make a ring to surround you with their unparalleled beauty.

Day 9: Trek to Bamboo

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Early in the morning, our trail quickly descends towards Bamboo. We leave our dream destination for the way back home. We descend towards a beautiful village Bamboo (2,345m) downhill towards the camp. The trek will continue for 6-7 hours, and we travel across the bank of Modi Khola again. We walk at a steady pace, and there is no rush. It is a long trek that is strenuous and takes patience. After reaching Modi Khola, we ascend towards Bamboo uphill. If we arrive early, we get to experience the unique culture and lifestyle of the people of Bamboo. We stay and rest ourselves in Bamboo for the night.

Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Dada

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: tay our night in Jhinu Dada

Today, we head for Jhinu Dada to experience the enjoyable hot spring, and also it is our way back home. After breakfast, we descend towards Sinuwa. Our trail is filled with green lush forests and rhododendron blooming red, white and pink and contrasting the color of the green jungle. From Sinuwa, we ascend towards Chhomrong. After Chhomrong, we head towards Jhinu Dada. Jhinu Dada is famous for its natural hot spring. We rest our bodies to the grace of the majestic spring. After rejuvenating ourselves, we move towards our stay for the night.

Day 11: Trek to Pothana

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Stay our night in Pothana

After an early refreshing breakfast, we start making our way for Pothana. We move towards Modi Khola. After we cross Modi Khola, we make our way through villages like Lhandruk village and the beautiful Tokla village. Our journey passes through beautiful oak forests. After the oak forests, we approach towards Pothana. This is the last place for enjoying the majestic views of the mountains. We spend the rest of the day exploring and roaming around the village. Enjoying the sunset in the hills.

Day 12: Trek to Phedi and down to Pokhara

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Accommodation: Stay in Pokhara for the night

The last day of trekking is the day we trail into the Annapurna Himalayan Region from the beautiful village of Pothana to Phedi. After our breakfast, we slowly start descending towards Phedi. Through the dense forests, enjoying the incredible vegetation and the mountain views we get down to Phedi. As soon as we reach Phedi, we drive back to Pokhara that will take us around two hours. We can freshen up in our hotel and then start exploring the beautiful city of Pokhara. Trekkers can go for spa, massage or relax and roam around the city and take photographs.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

After having an unforgettable journey, this day we move back to Kathmandu from where you can go home. As soon as we have our breakfasts, we take a bus to Kathmandu through the same route that we decided to Pokhara - enjoying the natural scenic beauties along the way we treasure our memories from the journey.

As we arrive in Kathmandu, you will be escorted to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours. You can explore the colorful markets of Thamel, or visit UNESCO sites. Furthermore, you can experience the rich culture that the people of the valley share. Make the most of your last light in Nepal.

Day 14: Bye Bye Nepal (Farewell)

It will be your last morning in Nepal. You’ll be saying goodbye to the country collecting some of the memories to cherish all your life. You will be escorted to the airport for your flight. You will have to be there a couple of hours before the trip.

If you have your flight at night, you can still get colored in the colors of the city. You can visit local places. Share your Annapurna Base Camp Trek stories to your friends abroad. And remember, “When mountains call, you answer.

Itinerary: Nepal: Mountains and Temples

Day 1 Kathmandu

Arrive at any time and welcome to Nepal's bustling capital - Kathmandu.

Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers as we wander through Patan Durbar Square for your first night out; pick the best looking spot and cheers to new adventures and friends.

Day 2 Kathmandu

Take a walking tour of Patan Durbar Square where we view the Royal Palace and the temples built in the traditional Newari pagoda style. Also visit Kumari Chowk, home to Nepal's living goddess; If she is accepting visitors, we can receive a blessing. After, visit Swayambhunath the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in the Kathmandu Valley. Remainder of the day is free to explore, opt to visit Bhaktapur or the Pashupatinath Temple or stroll around the bustling markets.

Day 3 Kathmandu/Panauti

Drive to Sanga and lace up your hiking shoes for a hike through the countryside and local Villages. Take in stunning views and meet friendly folks along the way to Panauti Village community homestay; a G Adventures–supported initiative. Settle into one of the welcoming homes and get to know your host family by pitching in and learning how to cook local dishes for dinner this evening.

Many families in Panauti Village have come together to establish a homestay program. Get to know a local family, explore this lovely village, and if you are inclined to pitch in, assist with preparing your evening meal - learning how to cook local dishes then eat together with your host family.

Day 4 Panauti

Enjoy a bicycle tour of the countryside and ride through three indigenous towns: Panauti, Sunthan and Khopasi. Explore small temples, peddle through an orange farm, learn how silk is produced from silk worms and try a cup of Nepali masala tea. Head back to our homestay for lunch then take a free afternoon to explore the town on your own before another home-cooked dinner with your hosts.

Day 5 Panauti/Bandipur

Enjoy stunning views as we drive along the Trishuli River passing ancient stone villages backed by steep rice terraces and the mountains beyond. Arrive in beautiful Bandipur village an ancient trading stop which has been able to maintain its distinct culture. Take an orientation walk around town exploring a bit of history, architecture, and local tradition.

Day 6 Bandipur

Enjoy a hike along local trails with stunning panoramic views of the entire Annapurna Ranges. Along the way we pass though small communities, the old fort of Purano Kot, and visit temples. Continue to Ramkot Village inhabited by the Magar Tribe, a very remote and simple Nepalese community originating from the ancient Mongols. Take a walk through the town before returning by vehicle to Bandipur.

Day 7 Bandipur/Pokhara

Drive towards the mystical Himalayan mountains, and our next stop, Pokhara. Get your bearings in town on an orientation walk around Lake Phewa and be sure to capture a panoramic group photo with the stunning Annapurna range backdrop.

Day 8 Pokhara

Get to know Pokhara more in-depth by freely exploring this exciting city. Opt to visit Mt Sarangkot for a spectacular Himalayan sunrise, visit the stunning World Peace Pagoda or explore Lake Phewa by boat, then wander the markets for some last minute shopping. Later, get ready for your big night out at a lakeside bar with your new friends. Grab a drink on us and cheers to all the life-changing adventures you've just shared.

Day 9 Pokhara/Kathmandu

Travel the last leg of this trip through the stunning green valleys, terraced hills and sweeping mountain views back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the remainder of the day exploring the city which is fascinating at every turn, simply wander around and see where chance, fate, or the city may lead you.

Day 10 Kathmandu
