This is one-week tour begins at the lowest point of earth, the Dead Sea, to get a chance to bob like a cork on salty waters or try the dark muds for a healthy soft skin. Travel to the southern part of Jordan to see the magical landscape of Wadi Rum. Discover the distinguished UNESCO heritage site of Petra and see the Siq, the Treasury or the Monastery. Get a glimpse of the Holy Land by crossing the border to the West Bank, to visit some religious sites such as Jericho, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. By the end of the tour, explore the impressive ruins in Jerash to see a well-preserved colonnaded street, Oval Forum, Roman theatre and the Temple of Artemis. Experience the hospitality of local Jordanians by visiting the Downtown Amman where the Amman Citadel, Roman Theatre and Old Souq are situated. |
Day 1: Amman Airport – Dead Sea Hotel
Welcome to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan! Our representative meets you with a signage before the immigration and assist you with all fomalities. Say hello to your friendly chauffeur who takes you to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Driving time is about an hour. Check in your hotel. Remaining time of the day your have free leisure time at the Dead Sea beach and have the chance to swim and float on salty waters and try the dark mud on the shores for healthy skin. Overnight at the Dead Sea like 4* Holiday Inn Resort or similar.
This itinerary is possible only with tour starts from Wednesday to Sunday due to the opening schedule of the King Hussein Border, known also as Allenby Bridge. If you plan to arrive on a Monday or Tuesday the itinerary needs to be amended.
Day 2: Dead Sea Hotel – Wadi Rum 2 Hours Jeep Tour – Petra Hotel

After breakfast at hotel, drive 4 hours southwards to the protected area of Wadi Rum. The stunning desert will make up for the long drive. Upon arrival at the visitor center meet your English speaking Bedouin guide to ride a 4x4 jeep. Wadi Rum is one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world and here Bedouins still live in a traditional way. For 2 hours you will visit sites such as Lawrence Spring, Red Sand Dunes, Nabatean rock inscriptions and the Khazali Canyon. Then you will be transferred for 1.5 hours to Petra, to your 4* hotel like Old Village Resort. Check-in and overnight in Petra.
Day 3: Petra Hotel – Petra Visit – Amman Hotel

Today you visit the highlight of Jordan, the red rose city Petra. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. With your private guide pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. The guide says farewell to you at the restaurant area; free time to explore Petra on your own. For instance climb the 800 stairs to see the impressing Monastery El Deir. After the tour 2.5 hours drive to the bustling city of Amman.
Day 4: Amman Hotel – Allenby Border – Jericho – Bethlehem – Jerusalem Hotel

07:00 be ready to drive around 45 minutes to the Allenby Bridge. We will explain to you the steps of the border procedure, which takes about 2 hours on average. You will be met by our English speaking representative outside the Israeli terminal. Short ride to Jericho in the West Bank, believed to be the oldest continuous settlement in the world. In Biblical history it is famous for the episode, that the walls of Jericho felt down, after the Israelites under Joshua played their trumpets. By cable car you will be taken up to the Mount of Temptation, where Jesus was tempted by the devil. From the Greek Orthodox monastery there you enjoy panoramic views of the area. You see also the old Sycamore Tree, where the tax collector Zacchaeus climbed a tree to get a better look at Jesus. If time permits visit the Islamic remains of Hisham’s Palace from the 8th century. Drive 1 hour to Bethlehem, a town with a Palestinian Christian community. See the Shepherds Fields in Beit Sahour, then arrive at Manger Square and the ancient Church of the Nativity. See also part of the 700 km long Separation Wall, dividing the West Bank and Israel, used as graffiti wall, some created by the British artist Banksy.
Day 5: Jerusalem Old City Tour – Allenby Border – Amman Hotel

Start your day at the Mt. of Olives with a panorama view of the old city, divided into the Jewish, the Christian, the Armenian and the Muslim quarter. Walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was arrested.
If the situation allows, visit to the Temple Mount, known as Haram El Sharif. You see the Al Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, two of the most important Islamic sanctuaries (non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the buildings). From the Temple Mount Prophet Mohammad ascended to heaven. The Temple Mount is the place, where the Jewish Temples stood 2,000 years ago. The Western Wall or Wailing Wall is the last remnant and the holiest site in Judaism. You will see today how it draws Jews from all over the world to pray here. We follow the footsteps of Jesus along the stations of the Via Dolorosa, the Way of Suffering, until the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The church marks the spot where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected. Return transfer to the Allenby Bridge. In Jordan side, our representative will pick you up and transfer 1 hour to Amman.
Day 6: Amman Hotel – Jerash – Amman City Tour – Amman Hotel

After breakfast, drive 1 hour north of Amman to visit Jerash. Jerash is an amazing blend of Greco-Roman and Oriental influences. A great place to visit during Spring with its beautiful rolling hills and lush greenery. Here you will find the spectacular forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis. Then drive back to the capital city of Jordan, Amman. It is already mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon. The historical places are located in downtown, where we visit the Citadel with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period. Then we have a round in the Archaeological Museum. We stroll via the Souq, where you get an idea of everyday life, to the Roman Theatre from 2nd century with 6000 seats. You will be given some time to visit the old Souq to shop for souvenirs, spices, gold and other Jordanian handicrafts. Return transfer to your hotel in Amman.
Day 7: Amman Hotel – Amman Airport
