This private tour allows you to discover the beauty of Jordan at your own pace. From the north to the south you see all the major highlights. Wander through the Roman ruins in Jerash, see religious sites around Madaba and take a dip in the Dead Sea. Walk in the Dana Nature Reserve with your local guide, admire the Treasury in Petra, experience a jeep ride in Wadi Rum desert and relax at the Red Sea. The accommodation is comfortable and varies from 3 and 4* hotels in Madaba and Petra, an overnight at a simple guest house in Dana, a stay in a tent in Wadi Rum to a standard 5* hotel in Aqaba. |
Day 1: Queen Alia Airport – Amman

Arrival at Amman Queen Alia International airport, here it is easy to arrange your visa (the visa is on your expense cost 40 JOD per person) and then walk with through the customs. Your driver will wait for you in the arrival hall, holding a name signhe will transfer you to the for overnight, including bed and breakfast
Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Amman
Meals: Breakfast
Your English Speaking guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel. Start your first morning in Jordan with a city tour. Visit the Citadel in Amman, with beautiful views over the city. Continue to the Roman Theatre, located in the heart of Amman for a visit. Drive on to Jerash, to visit the world’s best preserved Roman provincial city.. After your visit of Jerash transfer back to Amman for overnight, including bed and breakfast
Day 3: Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Karak – Little Petra – Petra
Today there is a long day ahead of you as you will be travelling to the South to Petra. At 07.30 am, after breakfast your tour today starts with visiting the St. George Church in Madaba with its famous mosaic map. Drive to Mt. Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Follow the King’s Highway until Karak. In Karak visit the immense Crusaders Castle. Time permitting you will also visit Little Petra today otherwise transfer directly to Petra for overnight at 3* La Masion Hotel, including bed and breakfast.
Optional activities for today: Petra by Night (each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening), Petra Kitchen cooking course, Local Turkish Bath.
Day 4: Petra
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: 3* La Masion Hotel
Full day to explore Petra, one of the seven world wonders. Entry by Siq and visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, Theater, Colonnaded Street etc. after lunch inside Petra you will still have time to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice today. It is a lot of climbing but definitely worth the views!
Optional activities for today: Petra by Night (each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening), Petra Kitchen cooking course, Local Turkish Bath, 1.5/2.5 hrs horse ride around the mountains of Petra
Day 5: Petra – Wadi Rum
After breakfast drive to Wadi Rum Visitors Centre. Before starting with the jeep tour you could decide to enjoy a half hour camel ride from Wadi Rum Village to Lawrence’s Spring. After start with a half day jeep tour including a freshly prepared barbeque lunch. A jeep tour is the best way to discover lots of sites in Wadi Rum. The jeep will stop at each site giving you time to walk/scramble around and maybe even climb up on some of the beautiful natural formed bridges in Wadi Rum. Dinner and overnight at a campsite in Wadi Rum. Sleep inside your tent or move your mattress outside and sleep under the millions of stars tonight!
Day 6: Wadi Rum – Aqaba
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Accommodation: 3* City Tower Hotel in Aqaba
After breakfast you will drive to Aqaba for a free day and overnight. Relax at the beach, discover the town of Aqaba or book a snorkeling cruise including lunch!
Day 7: Aqaba – Dead Sea – Amman
Meals: Lunch
Accommodation: 3* Larsa hotel
Check out of your hotel and drive via the Wadi Araba desert to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth’s surface. Enjoy day entry and lunch at the 4* Hotel. Float in the salty waters and try out the famous healing mud. Late afternoon transfer to Amman for overnight
Day 8: Amman – Queen Alia Airport
Transfer to the airport for departure. You would need to leave the hotel 3 hours in advance (2 hours for the check in and less than 1 hour driving from Amman to Amman Queen Alia Airport).
Day 1: Amman Airport – Madaba Hotel
Accommodation: Overnight 3* Hotel like Mosaic City Hotel.
Welcome to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan! Our representative meets you with a signage in front of the immigration Amman Airport. Get to know your friendly, English speaking driver, who transfers you about 25 minutes to the small town of Madaba. Check-in hotel, remainder of the day free to rest or explore your neighbourhood.
Day 2: Madaba Hotel – Ajloun Castle – Jerash – Madaba Hotel

Pickup hotel lobby to drive 1.5 hours to our first destination. Ajloun Castle, known in Arabic as Qal’at Rabad, was built around 1184/85 by a general serving the famous Islamic leader Salah al-Din. Errected on higher grounds its purpose was to watch over the routes to the Jordan Valley and Syria. There is a small museum inside the castle and don’t miss the great view over the surrounding area. Continue to Jerash, once a member of the Decapolis, but its heyday had been under the Romans. It is considered as the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. A local guide will make history come alive. Explore the spectacular Forum, the Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum, theatres and the Temple of Artemis. Return transfer to your hotel in Madaba.
Day 3: Madaba Visit – Mt Nebo – Dead Sea Beach – Dana Hotel

Today explore the town of Madaba, known for its Byzantine and Umayyad moscia art. Certainly you see the popular 6th century map of Palestine in the Greek Orthodox St. George’s Church. But we also venture a little further to the Archaeological Park with the Hippolytus Hall and if open to the St John’s the Baptist Church to climb the bell tower. After a short ride you find yourself on an elevated ridge of 710 metres, Mount Nebo, believed to be the burial site of Prophet Moses. If the weather allows you will have like him a view of the Promised Land. In the remains of the Moses Memorial Church you see more beautiful mosaics.
Drive down to the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. The salty water of the lake lets you float, not swim. The mud on the shores is supposed to have healing properties for the skin. After some leisure time at the beach we proceed 2 hours southwards to the village of Dana. Overnight Dana Guest House or similar.
Day 4: Dana Hike 2.5 hours – Little Petra – Petra Hotel
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Bag
Accommodation: Overnight 4* Sella Hotel or similar.
Dana Village, 1,100 meters above sea level, is used as starting point for hiking in the reserve with the same name. Dana Nature Reserve is Jordan's largest reserve with a diverse flora and fauna, consisting of mountains and wadis. With a local Bedouin guide you walk 2.5 to 3 hours to uncover part of the beautiful scenery, and will learn about the some of the plants growing here. Just a one hour‘s drive and we reach Little Petra. It gives you a glimpse what to expect in Petra. You enter the site through a narrow canyon which opens up to carved buildings, tombs and water channels. 15 minutes ride to your hotel in Petra.
Day 5: Petra Visit – Wadi Rum Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today visit the highlight of Jordan, the red rose city Petra! You are able to start as early as 06:00, but early birds, don’t forget to ask the hotel for a breakfast box the day before. Meet your local guide and pass the narrow canyon, the so called Siq, with its colourful sandstone. At the end you will be rewarded with a view of the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. After around 2 hours the guide says farewell to you at the restaurant area. You have free time to explore Petra on your own. The young at heart for instance have the chance to climb the 800 stairs to the 45 meters high Monastery El Deir. Return to the main gate. You will be picked up and driven 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum, where you have dinner and spend a night in a desert camp. Overnight at Standard Tent Sun City Camp or similar.
Day 6: Wadi Rum 3 hours jeep ride – Aqaba Hotel
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: Overnight 5* Movenpick Resort City or similar.
After breakfast embark a 4x4 and with your Bedouin driver uncover more of the vast Wadi Rum desert. The rugged landscape, the changing colours of sands and mountains, the serene atmosphere will make you understand why Wadi Rum is one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the world. The setting had been used for Hollywood movies. You see canyons, red sand dunes, Nabatean rock inscriptions and a natural rock bridge formed over centuries. Say farewell to the desert and drive 45 minutes to Aqaba with its glittering blue waters, Jordan’s gateway to the Red Sea.
Day 7: Aqaba Leisure Day – Aqaba Hotel
Meals: Breakfast
Free day to enjoy the Red Sea resort of Aqaba. Just relax at the beach or have fun with popular water activities like swimming, snorkeling or diving (not included). Overnight stay Aqaba hotel.
Day 8: Aqaba Hotel – Amman Airport
Meals: Breakfast
A long 4 hours drive will take you back today to Amman Airport to say farewell to Jordan! If you booked a flight from Aqaba Airport let us know, we will advise you the reduction of the transfer price.
