While on safari, to make the most of your experience we have accommodated you for 2 nights at each location so that you get time to relax and enjoy the impeccable service.

Itinerary: Serengeti Under Stars Luxury Safari

Day 1: Arusha Town

Meals: Dinner

Jambo, on arrival at the airport you will be personally met and escorted by one of the SafariHQ guides to your accommodation at the  Arusha Coffee Lodge. You have the choice to unwind and relax at your accommodation, or you can explore the bustling small town of Arusha at your leisure. We recommend a visit to the Arts and Craft Market, where you can pick up local handicrafts made by local artisans.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast you will be greeted by one of the SafariHQ professional guides who will brief you on the activities of the day before heading off on the first day of your safari. After the briefing we will make our way to Tarangire National Park. This park has some one of the highest densities of elephants in Tanzania, and it’s sparse vegetation is dotted by baobab and acacia trees making it a beautifully unique landscape. The park owes its name to the perennial Tarangire River and photographic opportunities abound when the many mammals of the park make their way to the water to drink. You may be lucky enough to encounter a herd of elephants frolicking in the mud and coating themselves to protect their skin from the sun, or giraffes reaching high into the acacia trees for a feed.  You will enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at the luxurious Oliver’s Camp.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast, enjoy an adventure packed day of game driving in Tarangire National Park. Beside herds of elephants you can  also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog, reedbuck.  Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal. Retire to Oliver’s Camp to enjoy a sundowner while taking in the many colours of the setting sun over the Tarangire landscape.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

This morning you will enjoy a game drive through Tarangire National Park en-route to the picturesque Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views as we drive up into the highlands to your accommodation at Gibbs Farm for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Meals: Breakfast, Luncha and Dinner

In the early morning we will depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. The rich pasture and permanent water of the Crater floor supports a resident population of an estimated 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed at the adundance of wildlife that exist within the crater at any one time. You are likely to see large herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle. There are also large numbers of lion and spotted hyena resident in the crater. The dense forest on the slopes and rim of the crater provides shelter for elephants and the endangered Black Rhino. At dawn the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Ascend the crater in the early early afternoon to enjoy sundowners at the charmingly relaxed Gibbs Farm.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today, we will make our way to the world famous Serengeti National Park and your luxury accommodation for the next 2 nights at Dunia Camp. En-route we will visit  a Maasai Boma where you will get the chance to see the Maasai performing their traditional dances.  You may even get a chance to join in! The Serengeti is characterized by spectacularly abundant concentrations of wildlife, stunningly beautiful landscapes and vast pristine areas making the Serengeti one of the most exciting parks to visit in Africa. The number of wildlife that call this park home are simply staggering. Estimates put wildebeest numbers at 1.7 million, zebras at 250,000, Thomson’s gazelle at 440,000. Also, be on the lookout for lion, hyena and cheetah, as these predators also exist in high concentration on these world famous plains.  Arrive in time for sundowners at the luxurious Dunia Camp. This luxury camp is a welcome site to unwind, relax and enjoy a sundowner  before your sumptuous evening meal.

Day 7 & 8: Serengeti National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains. You will rise early to enjoy an early morning game drive. At sunrise you may encounter animals grazing in the beautiful light of sunrise and predators may still be busy hunting before retiring to rest for the day.  Sunrise on the Serengeti is not to be missed and extraordinary photographic opportunities will abound at this magical time of day. You have the option to return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or to opt for a packed lunch which can be enjoyed at one of the various picnic sites found in the Serengeti. After lunch you will continue on a game drive.  Around the time of dusk be on the lookout for lion. Cheetah can also be spotted on the plains in the early morning and late afternoon when temperatures are not too high. They rely on daylight and speed to catch their prey.  Hippo pods can be seen in the bigger pools and rivers while crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the riverbanks. You will return to Dunia Camp in time to enjoy a sundowner before your evening meal.

Day 9: Arusha Town

Meals: Breakfast

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before being taken to Seronera Airstrip for your connecting flight to Arusha. Enjoy the unique perspective of watching Africa’s wildlife from the sky as you depart. You may wish to include one of our optional activities to your itinerary as your next destination, maybe a gorilla trek or a relaxing break enjoying the white sands and turquoise waters of Zanzibar’s beaches.

Itinerary: 5 Days Serengeti Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Lake Natron

Arrival day

Distance: 30/50 km

On arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport/Arusha airport our safari manager will meet you and drive to Planet lodge in Arusha or Similar. Then he will go through your safari program before leaving you to relax and enjoy the lodge’s facilities.

Overnight at Planet lodge in Arusha. Breakfast included.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Distance: About 120 km

Non – game viewing time: 2 to 3 hrs.

After breakfast at your lodge, meet your safari driver guide & chef then start the tour. The first stop will be in Arusha town for any last minute purchases before heading to Tarangire National Park for game drive. Packed lunch will be served in one of the picnic site inside the park. Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant population and giant baobab trees, you may expect to spot herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hippos, baboons and many antelopes. Birds are abundant & you may spot the three rare species of Ash staling, Great Kudu & Fringe Eared Oryx. Predators like lion, leopard, cheetah, jackals & hyena can also be seen. The park forms the central annual migratory cycle within Tarangire Lake Manyara ecosystem that include up to 3000 elephant, 25,000 wildebeest and about 30,000 zebra. Late Afternoon you will drive towards the base of the Great Rift Valley for overnight.

Overnight at Lilac Public Campsite close to Lake Manyara or similar. All meals include.

Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro crater

Distance: 50 km

Non – game viewing time: 1 to 2 hours.

Your 5 days Serengeti Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Lake Natron tour continues after breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area & descend 600 meters into the crater floor for game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is a rich area with enough water & fodder supports variety of animal species which includes herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippos, and giant African elephants. The Crater is home to some rare species of black rhino living in their natural habitat perhaps this is among few areas where you can see black rhino in the natural wilderness.

Another interesting part of this picturesque Caldera, is its denser population of predators, which include lion, cheetahs, hyenas, Jackals and the ever mysterious leopard that sometimes needs a binoculars eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline Lake in the southwestern corner frequently visited hippos, flocks of flamingos and other water birds. Late afternoon drive to Simba Public Campsite for sunset watch, dinner & overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National park

Distance: 115 km

Non – game viewing time: 2 to 3 hrs.

After breakfast drive around the Crater rim and down to “The wild Africa” Serengeti National Park with its endless rolling plains. Then move to the central Park area called Seronera, named after the River which is a valuable source of water in the Park therefore, attracts larger number of animal species in Serengeti Masai Mara ecosystem.

Seronera is among the richest habitats in Serengeti where you can see animal actions like fighting, hunting, eating even killing. Packed lunch to be served at kopjes (rocky outcropping) or on the way. After lunch & some rest embark for sunset game drive in the vast  Serengeti plains in searching for the migration of herds (depending on traveling dates). Late afternoon during or before sunset drive to your campsite for dinner & overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron

Distance:  about 152 km

Non game-viewing travel time: 4-5 hours

Today at 06:30 the 5 days Serengeti Ngorongoro safari takes you for an early morning game drive which can allow you to spot some cat family on the road as they avoiding morning mist. You may also see other nocturnal predators coming back from their long night of hunting or a group of lioness organizing a morning ambush. If the Wildebeest Migration will be packed in Serengeti then you will go straight to where they are & spend much time with them before starting your en route game drive towards the Northern Serengeti.

Check out at Klein’s gate & drive to Lake Natron where you will arrive at late afternoon and go for sunset walk along the Lake shore if time permits. You will have early dinner and sleep a bit before your driver wake you up to be ready for your night summit attempt at Ol Doinyo Lengai Mountain.

Overnight at Lake Natron Campsite. All meals included.

Day 5: Lake Natron – Arusha

Distance: 138 km

Night ascent & dawn summit bid, Ol Doinyo Lengai Mountain (seismic conditions permitting). Optional waterfall hike and swim (Depending on your flight time). After drive to Arusha for airport drop off or overnight. (Extra cost for accommodation)
