Day 1: Arrive in Siem Reap – Discover the Siem Reaper Flavour

Meals: Dinner

Accommodation: Central Corner d’Angkor (or similar)

Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide, who will transfer you to your hotel. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire.

Today, you will start your food journey of Siem Reap evening street food tour. The tour begins with an exhilarating ride aboard Siem Reap’s most common form of transport, the tuk-tuk. As you whizz through the bright lights and bustling streets of the city, you will be enticed by an infusion of tempting aromas.

Your expert guide will then lead you on a culinary journey through Siem Reap’s street food. The first stop is the local restaurant where you will taste fruits, spring rolls, tofu, and barbecued snails.

You will then go to the night market, where you can try some bugs, fantastic barbecued chicken, whilst enjoying a cold beverage sitting on a mattress alongside the street market. You will have the opportunity to sample some of Cambodia’s favourite local snacks, including Khmer rice cake and yellow bean cake, before continuing on to a local fruit market.

Day 2: Discover Angkor Temples

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Accommodation: Central Corner d’Angkor (or similar)

After having breakfast, you’ll start your tour with a visit to Angkor Wat temple, easily the most famous and best-preserved of all temples within the Angkor complex. Then, head out to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, enter the city through the ancient Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with elephants and four giant faces. From here, continue to Bayon Temple, found in the center of the city famed as the enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs.

Lunch is Khmer-style in a local restaurant. Regain your energy by enjoying a sumptuous Khmer feast near Sras Srang. Enjoy a spread of great local food followed by a nap lazing in a hammock, or explore to see the traditional way of life and say hello to the Cambodians living here.

After having lunch, continue to visit Ta Prohm which is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found – overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes the so-called Tomb Raider Temple, as it was used during the filming of the movie, one of the most picturesque and memorable temples of the Angkor complex.

Day 3: Floating Village & Phsar Circus

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Accommodation: Central Corner d’Angkor (or similar)

Today, discover the great landscape of the Tonle Sap lake. This is a unique experience offering a great outdoor adventure into Siem Reap’s countryside by exploring a floating village of Kompong Phluk and seeing first hand the livelihoods of the Cambodian people.

We will take you on the Siem Reap countryside in order to explore the local ways of life in Siem Reap. You will be greeted by friendly locals and get a deeper understanding of their lives and traditions. The journey will end at the Tonle Sap lake, where you will experience the livelihoods of Cambodian people living in the floating villages, offering you the opportunity to see how families adapt their life to be able to live on the water. After lunch at the village, we will head back to town. You will have time to rest before going to catch an evening performance at Phar Circus, where their shows tell stories of Cambodian history through a mix of music, dance and acrobats, in addition to meeting the talented performers. This is a unique thing to do in Siem Reap that you should not miss it.
