Description | Start your exciting French voyage as you criss-cross through the straits of the English Channel heading out aboard Fred. Olsen’s Boudicca towards the River Seine. Arrive in Normandy’s 2,000-year-old museum city of Rouen for an overnight stop. With plenty of time to explore, you can take in sights such as the Gothic Cathedral and the medieval old town, before heading onwards to dock in La Pallice - the gateway to La Rochelle. Continue on to the world-famous wine region of Bordeaux - maybe take time to stock up on a bottle or two. We complete our cruise in Lorient, a former French Navy town, before heading back to Dover. |
Join CroisiEurope for an art- and culture-filled cruise on the Seine River. Visit celebrated museums— including the Musée Marmottan Monet—as well as the lovely home of Claude Monet and his supreme gardens in Giverny. Enjoy thematic tours of cities and villages that were part of the French Impressionist movement, such as Barbizon, Rouen, and Honfleur. |
Day 1 Dover
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Dover, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Boudicca (3T+) in preparation for a late evening sailing.
Day 2 Cruising River Seine - Rouen, France (overnight)
Start your voyage as you cruise along the River Seine, France’s second-longest waterway. Admire the lush green countryside, historic cities and views of unspoilt scenery at every turn. As we head towards Rouen for an overnight stop, get prepared for a day’s exploring in the ‘museum city’ tomorrow.
Day 3 Rouen - Cruising River Seine
Rouen has had a turbulent history, most notably for the French heroine Joan of Arc who was tried for heresy and burned at the stake in the central square in 1431. Today, its soaring Gothic cathedral, beautifully restored medieval quarter, excellent museums and vibrant cultural life, makes it one of Normandy’s most engaging destinations.
Day 4 At sea
Day 5 La Pallice (La Rochelle)
La Rochelle is guarded by its medieval towers, brimming with 600 years of history - this is one of the most magnificent urban sights in France. Stroll around the stunning ports and old harbour or maybe visit the aquarium - exhibiting more than 12,000 animals of 600 different species.
Day 6-7 Bordeaux (overnight)
Welcome to the world’s wine capital, rich in beautiful, flourishing vineyards and delectable claret. Half of the city is UNESCO-listed, making it the largest urban World Heritage Site; whilst architects provide striking new buildings against its historic monuments. We dock overnight here, providing ample time to explore.
Day 8 Lorient
Arrive in Lorient, a place which historically has been an important fishing and industrial port, a role which continues today. Many of the buildings that surround the port are relics of the days when the French Navy had a large base in the town, and most places of interest are nearby for you to visit.
Day 9 At sea
