Day 1 Arrival in El Calafate

The rest of the day will be free for you to spend at your leisure.
Day 2 Perito Moreno Glaciar Mini Trek OR Perito Moreno Glacier Boat Safari
Depending on your departure date you will take one of two Los Glaciares excursions, both of which are perfect for those nature lovers who want to explore lakes, rivers, mountains and trails to discover one of its greatest wonders.
Perito Moreno Glaciar Mini Trek - August to May
Trekking over the Perito Moreno Glacier is a one of a kind experience! Nothing beats walking over the ice and enjoying the perspective on your crampons.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and we will head towards Los Glaciares National Park. We will head towards the pier located in “Bajo de las Sombras” port, about 6 km before the glacier Balconies- where you will embark for a 20 minutes navigation across the Rico Arm, enjoying breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno glacier’s front wall.
After getting closer to the glacier, you will finally disembark on the opposite shore where our specialized bilingual mountain guides will welcome you and lead you to a small shelter. Once we've checked the last details you will follow your guides along the lake’s shore towards the edge of the glacier.
There, the real adventure will start and you step foot on the glacier! Once on the ice, your guides will give you a pair of crampons and explain how to use them.
The two hours circuit that follows introduces you to the fascinating landscape of the glaciers: streams, small lagoons, gullies, crevasses and plenty of ice formations of the most incredible blues. The ice surface over which you walk is irregular, but firm and safe.
You will receive explanations about flora, fauna, general glaciology of the region and also about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier and eventually produces its rupture.
After the walk, a stroll through the forest brings you back to the shelter. From the shelter, you will embark again to get back to the pier, from where we will take you back to your hotel.
The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy El Calafate.

As we get to the front wall, the boat will stop for a few minutes to get a better look at the landscape, giving us a very good opportunity to take interesting photographs and film the scene.
Then we will go to the front catwalks of the glacier, where we will see it from several balconies located at different heights, allowing to appreciate it from different angles, each more beautiful than the last one. Finally we will enjoy some free time to spot the different detachments that continually take place, and those who want to, can enjoy lunch at any of the restaurants near the runways.
