Day 1: Rome
Welcome to Rome! After a meet and greet at the airport with your driver, you will be transferred to your hotel. At 8:30 pm reach the meeting point to be ready for the departure of the Rome by Night Tour. The local expert guide will lead you to discover the wonders of the Eternal City, charming by day, absolutely romantic by night. The tour ends in the Colosseum area. Enjoy on your own the rest of the night. Return to the hotel on your own and overnight stay.
Day 2: Rome > Assisi > Siena > Florence
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Early morning departure for Assisi. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis featuring masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Continue to Siena, home of the Palio. End the day in Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Florence
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
After breakfast, you will spend the day venturing around beautiful Florence, the “Cradle of Renaissance, where, with the help of Michelangelo, Italian art reached its pinnacle. Spend the afternoon strolling the cobblestone streets of Florence on your own or take a short trip to Pisa (optional).
Day 4: Florence > Bologna > Padova > Venice
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Depart for Bologna after breakfast in Florence. Wander through some of the city’s many, elegant arcades (or porticos), for which Bologna is famous. In the afternoon, continue toward Padova, with its original Sant’Antonio Basilica. In the early evening, we will arrive in Venice. Check-in to your hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Venice

After breakfast, enjoy your private water-taxi transfer to Piazza San Marco, with “Skip the Line” tickets to visit the splendid St. Mark’s Basilica and, after this, check out the most iconic places of the “Floating City”. Spend the afternoon roaming along Venice’s canals at your leisure and then return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 6: Venice > Montepulciano (Tuscany) > Rome

After breakfast, depart for Tuscany, known for its romantic churches, castles and beloved wines. Proceed to Val di Chiana with a stop in Montepulciano, a Medieval town rich with history and art. That evening we will arrive in Rome.
Day 7: Rome

After breakfast depart from the hotel for the included tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St.Peter’s Basilica with our exclusive “Skip the Line” access. The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Meals: B

Arrival in Rome, Italy Time to rest or start exploring the “Eternal City.” At 5:00 PM, meet your Globus Journeys Tour Director and other traveling companions and leave the hotel for a special welcome dinner at one of Rome’s lively restaurants.
Day 3:

Rome – San Martino In Campo Morning sightseeing (more of Rome at the end of our tour) includes visits to the COLOSSEUM and the ROMAN FORUM, before departing the Eternal City and continuing on to the province of Umbria for overnight lodging (and dinner) in San Martino In Campo. Explore the 17th century Botanical Park & Gardens at our hotel.
Day 4:

San Martino In Campo – Assisi – Venice Island Continuing in the province of Umbria, arrive in peaceful Assisi and visit ST. FRANCIS BASILICA, the hub of a religious order devoted to the ideals of humanity, forgiveness, simplicity, and love for all God’s creatures. Arrive in Venice, a powerful magnet for romantics and art lovers.
Day 5:

Venice Island We’ll take a private boat to meet our Local Guide for walking tour visits to St. Mark’s Square and the byzantine Basilica, lavish Doges’ Palace and the Bridge Of Sighs. Also, watch a skilled GLASSBLOWER fashion delicate objects in an age-old traditional manner. Afterwards, enjoy Venice at your own pace or join an optional cruise to the charming island of Burano.
Day 6:

Venice Island – Pisa – Florence Drive through the Apennine Mountains to Pisa and marvel at the Leaning Tower, then continue to Florence, “Cradle of the Renaissance.” Tonight, your chance to try out local specialties on an optional dinner outing to a fine Tuscan restaurant.
Day 7:

Florence All Day Guided sightseeing features a visit to the Academy Of Fine Arts to see Michelangelo’s celebrated David. Admire the magnificent marble cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistry’s heavy bronze “Gate of Paradise,” and sculpture studded Signoria Square. Afterward, time to shop for Florentine leather goods and gold jewelry, sold by the ounce. Don’t forget to taste a gelato artigianale (traditional ice cream).
Day 8:

Florence – Siena – Rome Arrive in Siena for an orientation walk through ancient, narrow lanes to Piazza Del Campo. See the square where the biannual Palio, Siena’s spectacular medieval-style horse race, is held and taste traditional panforte and ricciarelli (local specialties). We’ll return to the Eternal City by late afternoon.
Day 9:
Rome – Castel Gandolfo - Rome Look forward to a unique experience today: enjoy a guided visit to the impressive PAPAL PALACE in Castel Gandolfo, former summer residence of the Popes, and since 2016, a museum that is open to the public. Also visit the magnificent Barberini Gardens, where ruins of the residence of Roman Emperor Domitian are still visible. Now return to Rome and visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s ceiling paintings and The Last Judgment, and monumental St. Peter’s Square and Basilica toadmire Michelangelo’s Pietà. This evening a farewell dinner at a local restaurant is the proper way to say “Arrivederci Roma.”
