Peerless Inn -Kolkata - comfortable and well organised especially for the time we arrived. Guide in Kolkata (have forgotten his name) was great. Nawang was welcoming, organised, generous, knowledgeable and always thoughtful. Couldn't have asked for more, his love for the mountains evident. Such a good ambassador for World Expeditions!Tibetan Refugee Centre - we walked there which was a great way to visit the area. We took a large duffel bag of assorted clothing and equipment to give away, Nawang took some bits with us, including the glasses I threw in last minute. The refugees are desperate for all kinds of reading, distance and sunglasses. We purchased some reading glasses in old Delhi which we left with Dorjay to give to Nawang to take to them later in the year. The drivers at all times made us feel safe and were very skilled! All our guides, cooks, porters and horsemen were great and we were spoiled. Because of the team we had a truly once in a lifetime trek. We had no injuries, lots of chatter and laughter. Thank you all, will always recommend World Expeditions.

Our every needs were met and we had the privilege of seeing life 'off the beaten track'. All of our guides were exceptional but our time in Cusco with our guide, Tina, was very special. We havenever experienced such first hand knowledge before. This was an exceptional trip - we felt very privileged.

I had high expectations for my trip to Egypt and still came away impressed. The country's history and culture is astounding, there's just so much to see and learn about. I found the Pyramids and tombs more impressive than I anticipated and my itinerary with Topdeck packed in the perfect amount of inclusions with free time. The locals were very friendly and my guide was second to none. I would definitely travel with Topdeck again and look forward to returning to Egypt. So many highlights it's hard to mention just a few but the Felucca journey on the Nile, the tour of Abu Simbel and the sunrise hike up Mt. Sinai stand out as especially memorable.

Our trip to Morocco was a trip of a lifetime. I am so proud to be able to say that I camped in the Sahara Desert under the most brilliant cluster of stars during a cool November night. I can say that I slept in a guest house and hiked in the High Atlas Mountains. That I got to sleep in a riyad, watch women make argan oil and witness goats climbing trees! Joining my group on the South Morocco Discovery was eye opening. Our tour guide, Issam, was awesome - so knowledgeable on the current political and cultural climate as well as the history of the peoples of Morocco. He made sure we were well taken care of (a few of us got carsick during overland journeys) and made sure we had a lot of fun, too!

Two years ago, I was looking for a kayak trip in Baja with a company that was respectful of the area and the locals. After much looking on the world wide web, I came across Sea Kayak Adventures. Their philosophy seemed to fit the bill and the folks I had contact with in the office were extremely helpful in getting me booked for this adventure. Once there, WOW!!! It all exceeded my expectations. Isla Carman was right off our balcony of the hotel to beckon us on for the 11 day adventure. You pack your personal gear and they bring the rest. Excellent equipment, incredibly knowledgeable and professional guides, fantastic food, local spirits for sunset cocktails, and an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime. 11 days of beauty, laughter, fantastic food, amazing waters and scenery that just kept getting better, education of unknown to me part of the world, bonding with fellow travelers and staff and the beginning of my becoming a "Bajaholic". That is the term I use for me as I now have 6 trips under my belt with ROW/Sea Kayak Adventures and another one booked for next month. Next...

We have done many cycling tours in various countries but never a guided walking holiday until we signed up for this one. This is a center based tour with day hikes and a day off to see Seville - so unpack once and enjoy different scenery each day. There was a nice mix of people to meet and share our time with, as hiking is social as well as physical. The farmhouse we stayed in was very comfortable and rustic, with a hearty buffet breakfast and delicious dinner each day, as well as a packed lunch provided for most days. Our guide was very helpful and fun to be with - and organized some optional activities (Flamenco show and walking the Caminito del Rey) which appealed to everyone. Transportation arrangements were convenient. The trip was as described in the Exodus catalog. This was a very relaxing holiday which I would encourage others to book.

Excellent varied trip getting the sense of India March 2016

We like Intrepid's style of travel with small groups of 10-12 people using local transport and getting off the beaten track. We have done 5 Intrepid trips and North India Adventure is right up there for variety of sights, getting amongst local people, experiencing the rich culture of India. We also had safari's to see tigers (although managed to see leopards) a desert camel trip, along with discovering ancient rock paintings. The hustle and bustle of Delhi was a highlight also, but it was hard to pick out the best moments of 26 days of fantastic imagery, friendly people and a great adventure. India is a great big whack on the senses, so don't hold back if you want colour, joy and action.
There is time allowed to choose your own options for some parts of the trip, but Intrepid have really sorted out the best things to see and do, from cooking classes, to experiencing Hindu worship.
Highly recommended.

An Excellent Adventure on the MV Fram and Crew June 2016

My travel buddy and I flew to Spitsbergen from Oslo. Before our cruise we stayed overyight at the Radisson Blu Hotel. Nothing fancy, just a place to wait for the ship. The staff was helpful and friendly. I'll start with my only real complaint about my Fram experience: the check in procedure. We all seemed to arrive by bus from our hotels at roughly the same time...then we proceeded to our assigned deck, where I stood in line for one hour to be checked in - really, to provide them with my credit card information. The check-in process needs to be streamlined and improved. Other than that, the crew, the ship, almost everything and everyone met or exceeded my expectations.

If we didn't want to purchase a drink package we were able to have water with each meal, and the food was VERY good. Our cabin was small but acceptable for the week we were on board. One of our excursions - a hike - was really more of a forced march. The terrain was so rough I couldn't enjoy the scenery because of the necessity to look where every step was taking me. The pace was far too fast for the conditions. Before we began our cruise I hoped for just one decent polar bear sighting. Of course, with wildlife there are never any guarantees. From the ship we saw a total of seven polar bear! I was thrilled to come home with five VERY nice photos of them.

We also spent an hour on land watching a large group of walrus. Gliding through the heavy ice was a thrilling experience. Because of ice conditions our route was changed and a couple of landings were not possible but we knew we were at the mercy of the weather and ice. In the end, because of the ice, we didn't just circle Spitsbergen - we went around Svalbard! Of course everyone should investigate any company and specific ship and itinerary before purchasing a cruise, but I will heartily recommend Hurtigruten and the Fram to experience Spitsbergen.

The scenery is the entertainment. June 2016

My family including our 17 year old son sailed from Kirkenes to Bergen in August. The ship was the size we expected - a smaller passenger ship, billed a "coastal steamer". Our son had his own cabin which gave all of us plenty of room - and him space to do his own thing.

Highlights that passengers will enjoy is meeting other passengers, mostly European, who welcome conversation particularly with young people like our son. The food was invaribly healthy, plentiful and delicious - quite a distinction from a Caribbean cruise we took on a floating city. Hurtigruten is definitely and thankfully not that!

We also enjoyed the frequent stops at various towns and small ports along the way. At Hammerfest we took a 2-3 mile hike up over the hill overlooking the town. At another town, we were surprised to see vintage American cars of the 1950's and 60's tooling around town. If there was time I would go for a run as soon as we tied up enjoying discoveries as I ran through Trondheim and other lovely communities.

The Richard With needs some updating but nevertheless is comfortable. For those who want entertainment, this and we presume other Hurtigruten ships have little, their belief being that the scenery and the other passengers are entertainment enough. Fair enough but a movie once or twice would have been a fair diversion we might have enjoyed with other shipmates.

The test of a company must surely be how they respond when things go wrong and Exodus Travel failed this test miserably. After I had an accident on my trip that resulted in several broken bones in my right hand in addition to a blow to the head and other general scrapes and bruising, I was offered no assistance at all. The local subcontractor to Exodus just left me at the Hotel after I returned from Hospital. I asked them to arrange an additional night at the Hotel while I sorted my travel arrangements as I needed to return home for surgery and they didn't even do that. I was left in pretty bad shape to sort things out, without even an offer of assistance.

The trip up until this time was good, well organised and run. It was unfortunate that I crashed on the last day after the guide neglected to call a large hole in the road and according to Exodus apparently he never acknowledged pointing out holes was his responsibility! The response from Exodus has been very disappointing and says a lot about their culture and how you can expect to be treated if there are any issues.
