African Bikers

After a journey of one year’s duration cycling through Africa, the diversity of the country lying at the tip of the African continent, viz. South Africa, remained unforgettable and deeply etched in our minds, Jens and Andreas, the co-founders of African Bikers CC in 1993. Since then, we have been privileged to be able to introduce guests personally to our new ”home” in Cape Town. We research all routes ourselves and update them regularly, taking the opinions of our tour guides and guests into consideration. We guide the majority of the tours ourselves and ensure that the quality of the routes and the standard of accommodation are constantly maintained. We personally travel around southern Africa in order to assess new routes and destinations for our programmes, if and when time is available to do so.

We have extended our bicycle fleet and are now able to offer on all bicycle tours in South Africa and Namibia modern E-Bikes from Trek. The MTB come with front shocks or with full suspension. If you like it more comfortable, we raise the fork head and add front and rear mud guards as well as rear carrier.

In October you can travel with us on a Luxury train & E-Bike tour through South Africa. Appreciate the comfort of your own compartment which saves you any repacking and enjoy short excursion by E-Bike through some of the most beautiful landscapes of South Africa.

After the end of isolation with neighbouring Eritrea our Cycling tour through the highlands of Ethiopia offers you some incredible insights of this fascinating country full of natural and cultural highlights.

_For the really ambitious mountain biker we now offer you the opportunity, after cycling around the highest mountain of Africa to then ride up and down Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m)

We offer two Yoga & Active trips*. In Namibia you will appreciate the solitude and remotness during walks and yoga sessions. A special highlight is a 3 day desert walk in the Namib where you sleep in comfortable beds underneath the stars.

Special to the Yoga, Cycling and hiking vacation around Cape Town & Garden Route is, that we only change accommodation three times. Highlights are many Yoga sessions along the deserted beaches of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean.

Its wealth is comprised of many natural resources and attractions as well as a rich diversity of people who live here and continue to practise their cultures, all of which are fascinating. You can experience all of this in a region having a pleasant climate with one of the highest numbers of hours of sunshine in the world, and the only region worldwide where the traveller does not have to worry about changing time zones. In addition, southern Africa has the opposite seasons to both Europe and North America.
