About the company

the nation’s first national park wasted no time in attracting visitors. That same year the park saw 300 tourists, a number that increased to more than 5,000 ten years later with the completion of a railroad station near Livingston, MT, at the park’s north entrance.

Today, Yellowstone continues to be one of the country’s most unique natural attractions, featuring over two million acres of stunning geothermal features, untouched forests, rivers, lakes, bison, wolves, and elk — along with a wide array of other wildlife and over 1,300 plants. Since the early 1900s, our guides have been right there in the thick of it, leading a portion of the summer tours the park has long been famous for.

In 1970, Clyde Seely, See Yellowstone’s longtime owners, as well as the owner of the Three Bear Lodge, Three Bear Motel, and Parade Rest Guest Ranch, kicked off winter tourism in the area by leading the park’s first ever snowmobile tours that year. Eventually, Clyde, his team, and other local West Yellowstone tour companies worked together to ensure a sustainable future for snowmobile and snowcoach tours so that visitors could continue enjoying the park year-round for years to come.

Our founder, Clyde Seeley, was the first to offer guided snowmobile tours of Yellowstone National Park. More than four decades later, See Yellowstone is still the best choice for winter and summer tours alike, thanks to our highly qualified and experienced guides.

Yellowstone Park is full of beautiful views and opportunities for adventure. To make the most of your visit, you’ll definitely want to pack a few extra items in addition to your travel basics.

We’ve prepared a handy packing list for you to use when filling your luggage, and you can easily download it below.  Here are a few things to consider:

  • There’s a saying that if you want the weather to change in Yellowstone, wait about       5 minutes. Locals are experts at layering—and it’s a good idea for you, too. Wear           lightweight base layers but have a jacket or hoodie on hand.
  • Bring (or buy!) a hat. It’ll protect your skin, hide bedhead, and keep the beautiful        Yellowstone sunshine out of your eyes simultaneously.
  • Comfort comes first around these parts. We recommend you bring your comfiest         jeans, softest tee-shirts and shoes that keep your feet in top shape. That way you’ll     be able to stay on the go longer and make the most of your West Yellowstone                 getaway
