Noah Lazers - Travelstride Destination Expert
Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, and SpainNoah Lazers is a current university student who prioritizes world-travel along with his studies of English and European literature. He also specializes in Spanish language and Latin American History, with hopes to continue learning during future travels.
A Midwest native (from Chicago, IL), Noah had plans to apply the Spanish he picked up as a child to real-world settings once he had the ability to travel. Since then, he has moved to the Bay Area and traveled through Mexico, Peru, and Costa Rica. He plans to teach English in Spain after graduation and travel through Europe.
Noah has spent multiple days at Machu Picchu, in the Amazon rainforest, and in the Andes mountain range in both solo and group tours. While studying Peruvian history in Cusco, Peru, Noah worked with remote villages to provide sustainable cookstoves. Noah has engaged in eco-travel, downhill mountain biking, white-water rafting, and culinary tours while traveling in Latin America.
He has planned itineraries for and completed both solo and group tours, providing him with knowledge of tour operators and efficient ways to enjoy a city or activity. Noah tries to work with tour operators that prioritize sustainability and hopes to use his opportunities as a writer to encourage others to do the same.
While it is not an easy choice to make, I think my favorite trip would be the one I took to Machu Picchu in Peru. As an iconic remnant of the Incan civilization, I feel very fortunate to have seen it in real life.
We spent a night hiking on the famous Inca Trail, which proved a fun experience in itself for all of the people in our tour group. The most striking fact was the way that the Trail still stands today largely as it was when it was first laid down in the 15th century.
After enjoying the night-life of Aguas Calientes (the closest town) for one night, we spent a second day at the historic site, which was definitely necessary in order to take our time and fully enjoy it.
My next trip will be to either Spain or Chile, where I hope to spend at least 2 weeks this summer before I return to school. I am planning to go with one other friend with whom I have traveled many times before and look forward to exploring either country, as they have been on my list for a long time!
