Very happy with all the lodging and tour arrangements. It is a self guided tour and we received an excellent itinerary with all the reservation and travel directions we needed. We were fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights but there are no guarantees and it would have been a great trip regardless. "I had to write this review when I saw the only review on here was so mediocre. We went earlier this year on an art tour of Florence. It was excellent, from booking to getting off the plane back in England. The hq staff, the tour guide and the expert were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The tour was brilliantly designed so we saw a great deal in a city of masterpieces, but never felt overwhelmed. The hotel was excellent. The meals were very good. It is expensive, but taking into account the quality of the hotel and the expertise of both the Martin Randall staff and the art historian it really is good value. The whole trip was good fun, enlightening and ran like clockwork. Nobody needs to go on a luxury tour accompanied by an academic - you could stay in a youth hostel and read a tour guide and see the same sights for a tenth of the price. But if you have the inclination and means then Martin Randall is an excellent choice. We have since booked another tour for next year, and I have my sights on two more."

"I went on this trip with some misgivings, as my only other experience with this type of tour was a winter Tauck Family Bridges tour of Italy, that was not a good experience. Well, I am SO glad I went, as my daughter and I had a marvelous time. Disney did an amazing job of organizing this trip - I still can't believe how much they managed to fit into essentially 8 days. I also can't believe how much fun it all was! The guides were tremendous. First of all, unlike Tauck (where we traveled with one tour manager), here we had two guides with us the entire time - one a licensed guide in Greece (i.e., a native, very knowledgeable about the country and able to really take us through the historical and archaeological sites) and the other an American who has been guiding in Greece for years. The interaction between the guides was very warm, as was their way of relating to the guests. This was a complete contrast with Tauck. Here people really got to know each other, the young people had a great time with each other, and, of course, Greece itself is just magnificent. I will certainly travel with Disney again!"

"My wife and I did the six day Lofoten Islands tour offered by 50 Degrees North. The tour is simple, they provided us a rental car, accommodations for two nights each at three Rorbuer hotels scattered across the islands, and a couple of scheduled day tours. Most of the time, we were on our own to see the islands at our own pace. The islands are stunningly beautiful, and the tour planning made our travels hassle free. They even scheduled lunch for us at an organic goat farm, which may sound a little strange for a vacation like this, but that is only because you haven't tasted the cheese. (Best lunch ever!) At our request, they altered the tour slightly so that we could begin the tour in Svolvaer and end it six days later at the airport in Leknes. We can't imagine a more complete tour of the islands in six short days."

"This trip was a good mix of cycling through rural Spain and cultural visits to castles, monasteries, and sanctuaries. Most of the cycling was on cycle tracks or minor roads, with very little traffic. The few hills that we did encounter were not too strenuous! Alex was an excellent guide who shared all his knowledge of the regions history, culture, industry and importantly cuisine. The trip was well planned and organised. The hotels were of a good standard, clean and comfortable. The monastery in Caravaca de la Cruz was very peaceful. My favourite place was Caravaca de la Cruz. The town had a lot of history, combined with good bars and restaurants made it a perfect place to be based for 3 nights. The last day of cycling down the river valley from Cieza back to Murcia was a brilliant day’s ride. We followed the river through farmland, villages, and towns back to the city. The smell of orange blossom as we went through the orchards was amazing. The scenery in the morning was stunning and the riverside track into Murcia was the perfect end to the trip. I would recommend this trip."

"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. We extended our stay in Lisbon to see more attractions and took a side trip to Fatima, Obidos, and Nazare that was also excellent. Would have liked to have a bit more time in a couple of the cities, but we'll just have to plan another trip!"
