Classic Safari

Day 1: Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport, meet and transfer to Arusha. Dinner on own account. Day 2: After breakfast drive to Tarangire National park for game drives. Stop at Tarangire Safari Lodge for lunch and proceed for afternoon game drive, the huge baobab trees will amaze you! Tarangire is one of Africa’s little-known gems and a must for any northern circuit itinerary. Boasting a variety of wildlife as diverse as its landscape, Tarangire is also the park that can boast being home to Tanzania’s largest population of African elephants. With four of the Big Five also residing within the park. Dinner and overnight. Day 3: After breakfast drive to Serengeti National park with picnic lunch. Game drives en-route to your Camp. Serengeti comes from the Maasai chat “Siring” acceptation “Endless Plain. It is one of the most important African tourism circuits and an extension of the Kenyan Maasai Mara National Park. All three big cats are easily seen. Lions are everywhere, Cheetahs are very common, while leopards can often be found lazing in one of the big trees along the Seronera River. It is famed for its annual wildebeest migration, one of world’s seven natural wonders when some six million hooves cross the open plains, as more than 1,000,000 wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the trek for fresh grazing. This is one of the most impressive natural events in the world. Dinner and overnight. Day 4: Morning and afternoon game drives in the vast Serengeti plains. Day 5: After breakfast drive to Karatu via Ngorongoro. Lunch at the Lodge in Karatu and rest of the afternoon at leisure. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact caldera, a cooking pot shaped collapsed volcano, in the world, with a crater 259 square kilometres. It is known as the ‘Garden of Eden’, due to the crater’s beauty and it being a paradise for animals.  In the centre of the Ngorongoro Crater is a salt-water lake by the name of ‘Makat’ or ‘Magadi’, and to the east of the crater is a spring named Ngoitokitok Spring. Black rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, flamingos and a plethora of other wildlife can be found quite easily in this area. A native African tribe, Masaii, can be found in the area of the Ngorongoro Crater, and the crater has the highest density of lions in the world. Dinner and overnight. Day 6: After breakfast depart with picnic lunch and descend to the crater floor for game viewing. Late afternoon return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight. Day 7: After breakfast, drive back to Arusha Town for lunch. Later transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your beach hotel where you will enjoy three days of sea, sun and sand. For most visitors Zanzibar Town means Stone Town, the historic quarter where you can wander for hours through a maze of narrow streets, easily losing yourself in centuries of history. Each twist and turn brings something new – a former palace, a Persian bathhouse, a tumbledown ruin, a coral-stone mansion with carved doors and latticework balconies. Dinner and overnight. Day 8: After breakfast, drive back to Arusha Town for lunch. Later transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
