Requirements
On trek days this trip involves trekking for up to 4-6 hours (16km on average) and up to 50km on cycling days. While we maintain a slow and steady pace, this should not be misinterpreted to mean it is an easy trip. You will need a reasonable level of fitness and good health. * Suggested preparation: 30 minutes of aerobic type exercise, (either cycling or jogging) three times a week for three months leading up to your trip. In addition, hill walking with a daypack in variable weather conditions is also recommended. It is mandatory that you wear a helmet on all bike tours. We deliberately do not supply rental helmets because only a well-fitting helmet can offer a certain amount of protection. Cycling helmets are offered by numerous suppliers in various price and quality categories. When buying a bicycle helmet we recommend getting advice at a specialist store since finding the optimum helmet depends on quite a number of things. Avoid at all cost buying a helmet because of its looks; the main criteria should be a perfect fit. In some areas there are a limited number of helmets are available for hire but as suitability cannot be guaranteed we ask that you bring your own for the best fit and comfort.,
Travel Insurance
We require that you take out a personal travel insurance policy to cover against sickness, accident, loss of baggage, unexpected alterations to travel arrangements and travel disruption, emergency evacuation, cancellations, etc. A suggested policy is enclosed with these notes. If you take out an alternative policy, we need to be advised of the details. Please note: if you choose credit card cover, in our experience, this may not insure against high cost needs. For example; helicopter emergency evacuation. If you do decide to choose credit card coverage, please check all policy details thoroughly. You should always carry your travel insurance policy, emergency card and photocopies of your passport and cash cards with you during your trip.
