I had a simply marvellous and memorable experience aboard St Hilda with the Mull Odyssey cruise. Christophe and Kerry were fantastic, helpful , lovely people. Everybody was great company! The land and seascapes were quite amazing, the light and shade effects wonderful. I know and love the West Coast of Scotland, and this is a wonderful way of seeing it. Highlights were the peace of Iona, the puffins within a couple of feet on Lunga, the fantastic mountains of Mull reflected in the water.... I could go on for ever!
Quite the best holiday of my life!

Cant recommend WeRamblers as a trekking company to anybody
I just completed GokyoRi Trek with Ramblers. They are a company only and only meant for budget or shoe string budget travellers. If you are 5% inclined to get good/better/comfortable accomodation during a tough trek, then there are many better companies who will provide better experience for a nominally higher charges.
In this case, I and some folks in the group who had paid more, were still not provided what was committed to them. I can understand if there are no options, but there were other options for just 1-2K extra, which we were not given.
I have been trekking since number of years, but this was one experience, which didnt go well. There may be some who would say, its trek and cant expect luxuries, yes maybe we cant expect, but if it is available and we are willing to pay, then i would expect to get it. With these guys, the decisions are with guides, who are given certain amount to take care of us and he would choose the cheapest, so that he can pocket the balance. Alas, this took a toll on our health and soured the experience.
We Ramblers was instrumental in ensuring that we had a successful trek to EBC and back safely. Our guide Nabin and tour manager Nitesh were very knowledgeable and took care of every request we had.
We a group of 7 recently completed our EBC trek with 100% success rate. This was possible only due to the professionalism of We Ramblers. Throughout the trek both our guide Nabin and tour manager Nitesh were in constant communication and took care of every detail asks we had of them. They went out of the way to ensure that all 7 of us made it to EBC and back safely. Nitesh went beyond and helped us explore Kathmandu by providing local recommendations and assisting in transportation. I can't thank enough both Nitesh & Nabin for being so accommodating and meticulously taking care of our requests. Thank you.

This company is not reputable or helpful. They charge an extra 3.7% in order to use a credit card and 5% extra for Paypal. I did not use them to plan my trip. I hope that others don't pay these outrageous fees. Be careful and select another company. The camps themselves can recommend a tour operator or you can book online with the camp directly.

Before we even arrived in Arusha, all of us (and there were 17!) had complete itineraries, lists of what to bring and what to expect, health information, etc. We had e-mail contact with James and he answered our myriad questions, planned special events, reassured and problem solved until we knew that all we had to do was show up and we would be well taken care of. And he MORE than delivered! Incredible attention to detail, a seemingly bottomless knowledge of the natural aspects of Tanzania, Tanzanian culture, and travel. In addition, his team was also supportive and knowledgeable...little tidbits about wildlife and culture rolling off their tongues as they drove us to the best places to view wildlife and get the most amazing photos. But is was more than about wildlife...it was about being in Tanzania...having different experiences in where we stayed, visiting a village and a school, meeting natives and sharing stories, sitting together to reflect and ask questions. James gave us as first talk about patience, flexibility and optimism...and we held to those principles for the entire adventure. There were surprises and unanticipated situations that were handled with grace; a truly unflappable tour guide who truly wanted his clients to have the very best possible experience...and we surely did. He will custom design your adventure and make suggestions based on his vast experience and he will personally attend to every detail so you are comfortable and extremely well taken care of. They showed up late, believed that the parking lot at the center of the earth is good enough and not the monument, recorded us for their marketing material even after we asked them to stop, and the tour lasted 11 hours and not the 8 that was stated withou
This is nothing more than an overprices taxi service. The van arrived 20 minutes late and the guide then arrived 5 minutes after the bus. We picked up another group and then headed to Mitad del Mundo, so we thought. The guide was talking with the other group and said that they should take a tour of Mitad del Mundo. My wife and I were confused and asked why we were not stopping. The guide said we could if we wanted, but said it was not on the itinerary. We then stopped, and she wanted us to take photo from outside the monument. She said that going into the monument was not included on the tour. I was shocked and said our itinerary said we going to Mitad del Mundo - we then purchased tickets and went inside. When we got back said her boss was not happy that we went inside, and she wanted to see our voucher where it said we were stopping at Mitad del Mundo. The voucher, provided by TripAdvisor, did not have an itinerary. Here is what it says on TripAdvisor “stop by the ‘Middle of the World’ complex which marks the earths geographic equator”. I guess the tour company thinks standing at the gate looking into the monument is good enough.
The hummingbird activity and canopy were great, but the guide left us at the canopy and said she would be back before we got done. They arrived back 35 minutes after we were done. We then went to the chocolate factory which was a fantastic tour. The down side was we had to eat at the attached restaurant which is nowhere near as good as the chocolate and overpriced. For example, at Otavalo the day before I had Trout and a beer, $9. This restaurant was $13 for the same beer and meal. Not a big deal, but the chocolate place has it set up where you order food then take the tour. When the tour is complete you get your food. No chance to eat anywhere else.
In addition, the company was using this trip for internet media marketing, recording and taking pictures for parts of the tour. We were not told until after the tour started and were told by the guide that we did not have to have photos taken if we did not want. I had to ask three times for the photographer not to video or take our pictures for their website.
As advertised, this trip should have taken 8 hours – we were finally dropped off at our hotel more than 11 hours after our initial departure. Overall the guide service provided a taxi ride to some activities. The day before we hired a private van to take us to Otavalo and it was $160, not $337 for three children and two adults. The activities were great, but the tour company had no effect on them. Talk to your hotel and arrange a private van.
Great Experience
I can't say enough about how great my experience was with Latin Adventures Tour. Our tour guide, Diageo, was great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fun and just made our overall tour very enjoyable. Highly recommended and will definitely use again!

African Safari Perfection!
From the first time we spoke to Pam Langhoff at Rothschild Safaris, her main concern was creating exactly the trip that my wife and I wanted. In the end, she helped us do that and more. I have told everyone that has asked that I had completely unfair and unrealistic expectations for our trip and those expectations were exceeded at every turn. fabulous bicycling trip!
This was a fabulous bicycling trip! So much away from traffic, got to ride on Sunday vs. just being fitted and riding around the block, and a small group.
Tuesday lunch could use improvement - told we did not have a lot of time, there was a coffee/pastry shop, and that there was no food at mid-day destination. Don’t eat ice cream for lunch, afraid to go to restaurant and hold people up, so did not have lunch that day - disappointing. Even though we had a later start to begin riding, we had still had breakfast at 7:30, and needed lunch.
Guides were wonderful - and they spent a lot of time with us which I enjoyed.
