"It was a leap of faith for us to use Zicasso, a service that connected us to Top Travel Italy, and to book a trip with a travel agent because we've always planned our own vacations in the past. It turned out great! Their model works. Zicasso recommended two agencies in Italy, our destination country, and we chose Top Travel Italy based on their responsiveness. What fun to create a customized itinerary based on their recommendations -- we told them how many days we could travel, what our budget was, and roughly what we wanted to do. They came back with a first draft and we tweaked it from there. Everything worked smoothly while we were in Italy -- we had good hotels and great tour guides, but I think the highlight for me was the private drivers! Driving in Cinque Terre, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast would have been stressful and it was wonderful to leave that to the professionals. "We were very happy with the trip and how we worked together with you to plan everything. All of the places we went were amazing. Rome had amazing ancient history, art, and architecture as did Pompeii, and Florence had amazing Renaissance history, art, and architecture, while Milan had a little of both but also with the feel of a modern city. The Amalfi Coast and Lake Como were beautiful. We loved Positano (where we stayed) and Ravello best of the places of the places we visited in The Amalfi Coast because they had the most charm and beauty and the least people. In Lake Como, we stayed in Bellagio, but everyplace we visited in Lake Como was beautiful and charming. However, Bellagio, drinking wine and watching the sunset in Varenna, and the boat tour of the lake stood out as our favorite activities. The food was also amazing everywhere, from local places to fine dining the food was fantastic and memorable. We loved Italy. It’s beautiful, and we’ll definitely come back. All of the travel arrangements were excellent and everything was easy. The drivers were friendly and spoke good to excellent English as well as Italian. And having the extra phone was a nice convenience. We didn’t have any stress or difficulties during the trip about the details as they were all taken care of with excellent results. Our favorite drivers: Naples to Positano and back (and Pompeii) Salvatore was excellent. Driving with him was like being with a friend or family member. He was very concerned with our comfort and always suggested places to stop for pictures or a view and had great knowledge of the Naples and The Amalfi Coast. He was also a gentle driver and never made us uncomfortable. Florence Day Trip – I apologize but his name escapes me (maybe Giorgio?), but he was excellent for all the same reasons we liked Salvatore. He even took us to his favorite Gelato shop near his home town and it was so much better than most of what we tried, and since he grew up there he had lots of really interesting local history Milan to Bellagio – I apologize I also forgot this gentleman’s name, but he was a good driver especially around all the curves to and from Bellagio. Not as talkative as the other two, but very friendly and a gentle driver Our favorite guides: Vatican / Franchesca – Interesting personality and very different that the usual guide experience, but we enjoyed her character. She did what we were interested in doing and never let anyone forget that we (and she) were VIP! Pompeii – I apologize I forget her name, but she was very nice and attentive and very interested in what we wanted to know and see and learn more about. It felt tailored to us and what we wanted, which is why you hire a private guide! All of the other guides and drivers were good but the ones above were the best and most memorable. Thanks again for the great trip! We would definitely recommend you to friends, and in fact we already did recommend our friends Derrick and Lorena to you."

"For anyone wanting to see a lot of Morocco this tour is perfect. It really does cover a lot of the country and provides a very good insight into Moroccan life - for the rich and not so rich. Everything was very well organised and both the tour guide and driver were excellent. As well as being extremely knowledgeable they were on hand at all time to help, advise and assist with things. The local guides were also excellent and full of interesting information. Being able to sample local foods from the markets and street vendors was really good, as was the tagline cookery class. On the other hand the cous-cous demonstration was very poor and the facilities at the hotel where it was provided less than acceptable. In fact the place was so dirty it completely put me off eating there. Apart from this hotel - the hotel Awayou, all of the hotels were of a reasonable standard., the exceptions being the Chebbi Dune Luxury Desert Camp which was very good indeed. A wonderful desert experience with first class food, accommodation and lovely staff. The Riad Basim was also superb, everything about it beautifully done and a haven of tranquility from the chaos of Marrakech. Spending our last two nights in the beautiful hotel made a perfect ending to a very memorable trip. We were a very small group - just 3 people, and our guide didn't organise a group tip. This made things difficult at times because we had no idea of a suitable amount to tip our local guides. As a consequence I spent far more on tipping than I had budgeted for. I think it would be helpful for Explore to give guidance on tipping for local guides where no group tip is organised. A final point on the name of the trip "A Taste of Morocco'. I presume this to be a play on words, meaning the tour takes in a lot of cities but also provides interesting culinary experiences. It certainly does both but a little more detail on the culinary element might be useful. For example, a copy of the recipes for cous-cous and tagine would have been helpful. Although the ingredients of the these were shown to us there was almost no information about quantities, cooking times etc. and both people giving the cookery demonstrations spoke no English so asking questions wasn't possible. We also never did discover the ingredients that make up Ras al Hanout - I guess I'll just have to return to find out!"

"We just returned from a two-week trip that took us from Venice, to Parma, to Florence, to Rome, and Sorrento, and we couldn't be happier with the trip set up by everyone at Viandando. After telling them what our interests were, they set up a tour that introduced us to Italy and kept everyone in our group (ranging from grandparents to kids) engaged and excited. All of the guides we had were friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. Although Italy was packed with tourists, Viandando set us up so we never waited in any lines and were able to experience some of the top sites without huge crowds. The hotels we had were all fantastic, offering us great rooms and central locations to explore the city. Our drivers were waiting for us and got us where we needed to be on time! Most importantly, Elena, Eleonora, and Giulia were there for us when plans changed unexpectedly. Our flights were cancelled multiple times and, even though this was totally out of their control, Viandando had our back and was able to make last minute travel changes to help save whatever they could of the days that we lost due to our flights.
