Arrive Copenhagen at any time, private transfer from airport to your hotel and check into your hotel in the centre of town.
Thereafter, go for a leisurely walk and enjoy twilight along the colourful harbour Nyhavn with its celebratory feel and atmosphere.
Copenhagen has over the years become famous for its manifesto of New Nordic Cuisine. The city boasts 18 Michelin stars divided over 15 restaurants, and is home to the world's best restaurant, noma. The city is also abundant in everything from small cosy pub sty...
You will pick up your hire car in the morning at the car hire office in the centre of town before setting off towards Roskilde with map and GPS in hand. Driving in Denmark is not daunting at all, but it is on the right-hand side of the road.
Drive to Ros...
Explore Roskilde and surrounds. We recommend visiting the Roskilde Cathedral, a landmark, where the notorious Viking king Harald Bluetooth was buried. Visit the Viking Ship Musuem where you can row a viking ship, dine like a Viking in the museum cafe and tast the local flatbread.
Head south from Roskilde (64 km from Roskilde to Slagelse) and you’ll arrive in Trelleborg, which is home to the impressive ring fortress surrounded by a 134-metre-diameter wall. Explore the site by walking around and visit the ancient archaeological finds in t...
From Slagelse near Trelleborg, drive west over the Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen) to the island of Funen (Fyn). South of the town Kerteminde, you’ll find Ladby Viking Museum. This museum is at the site of a Viking burial mound found to contain a 20-metre-long Viking warship in which a Viking chieftain was buried along with his most precious belongings.
After breakfast, the day is at your disposal to drive back to Copenhagen. The car hire is included for the full day. Consider visiting the beautifully situated Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, which is a side trip and not quite Viking related, but a must for art lovers, as you return to Copenhagen.

50 Degrees North specializes in holiday travel to Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Arctic. We specialize regionally, as we believe it is not possible to be good at everything. We also focus on offering the most enriching style of travel.
WHY TRAVEL WITH US?
There are many reasons to book your Nordic or Arctic holiday with us, and here are a few to think about;
You get to speak with a passionate local Scandinavian with firsthand knowledge from the region. Be sure to check us out here.
- All our sales staff and owners are Scandinavians, and we know our home region like the back of our hand. This expertise is unique in the industry, and adds significant value to each booking, ensuring our customers have the best possible holiday experience.
- As Scandinavians, we have a strong relationship with local suppliers and hoteliers. We contract directly with local guides, hoteliers and transport companies.
