History

Once upon a time, a young South African travelled to Paris on a very small budget. Walking and using public transport, he explored the city. On his last day in Paris his diminished funds left him with a choice – go to Disneyland or eat lunch. True to the travellers' spirit, he went to Disneyland!

Wanting to share his experiences, he started to take friends around Paris and joined forces with Jakes Maritz, another Expat. Together they founded a company which offers great value tours to people wanting that once in a lifetime experience. That person is Carel Cronje and the company is Expat Explore Travel.

Since 2005, Expat Explore Travel has been conducting expert-led coach tours to Europe and the UK. A company started by two South African travellers, Expat Explore grew out of their desire to share their knowledge and expertise with others. Expat has always had a focus on providing once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences at an accessible price, delivered at the highest quality possible.

Expat Explore has grown to offer not just tours of Europe but also Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Croatia all with the same emphasis on top-notch travel at a competitive price.

Our Tours and Travellers:

Our passengers are part of a global community, gathering together to enjoy some of the world’s most fascinating attractions and landmarks. We have a passion for sharing our knowledge of the places we know so well with our travellers.
