What's this trip about?

The Marangu Route has been referred to as the ‘Coca Cola’ route and this has led potential climbers to think that it is an easy route to the summit. This is far from the truth to be honest! The fact that it requires a minimum of 7 days to complete it does not mean that it is easier than any other route. The only reason that people say it is easier is because it is the only route up Kilimanjaro where you sleep in huts as opposed to tents. After back from Kilimanjaro you will overnight in hotel at Arusha and after breakfast and transfer to Tarangire National Park for a full day safari with picnic lunch. Tarangire National Park is famous for is large herds up to 300 hundred elephants and majestic Baobab trees. The rolling hills will provide you with magnificent views over the landscape.

Tanzania has seven official World Heritage Sites and Expect In Africa Safari will take you there on Teeming with diverse wildlife and a spectacular sight. Serengeti is the breathtaking outback venue of the annual migration of millions of wildebeest combined with an evolutionary trip to Olduvai Gorge, Laetoli and the Kondoa Rock Art Cave Sites takes you back to your human origins. Unspoiled remote wildernesses, home to thousands of elephants and bovines, and packs of rare African wild dogs and other diverse predators. Lake Tanganyika is among the most beautiful lakes in the world. Lake Manyara was a personal favorite of Ernest Hemingway. Climb the Kilimanjaro on an uphill strenuous stroll, the highest mountain in Africa, shining in the morning sun above a pedestal of cloud. Trek past its glaciers to the highest peak, or peer into the magma pits of the Mountain of God – Ol Doinyo Lengai by Lake Natron. Silver beaches and limpid seas set off the wonderful Swahili architecture of Stone Town in Zanzibar, important as a significant trading port, a heady blend of cultures and focus of the abolition of slavery. Combine Zanzibar with a history trip to Bagamoyo or even Kilwa to see the ruins of Kisiwani and Songo Mnara. Thereafter, head off to the private island of Fanjove or Lazy Lagoon for an unadulterated beach escape. Find all the fascination of African travel in the inimitable richness of Tanzania.

An authentic and discerning tour of Tanzania with Expect In Africa Safari, providing outstanding examples of sustainable tourism in a country with unbeatable natural resources. Additional Information

The following is very important to consider

You will need visas for entry to Tanzania. Though you can get these in Africa, your travel will go smoother if you get them in advance through the respective embassies.

Make a photocopy or list of the following items: Passports (including the page with the visa stamped in them and the pages with photos and data), plane tickets, yellow booklet showing your yellow fever vaccination, list of all medications you might require, listing of all travelers' cheque numbers and money if possible, list of serial numbers for cameras, etc. Keep this list someplace apart from where you keep these other items

Keep track of your passport above all. Loss of a passport can destroy your trip and cost considerable money during the time required to replace it. On your international flight, pack as if the airline might misplace your bags. Keep things you will need right away in your carry-on. It seldom happens, and almost always the bags arrive a couple of days later, but this way, if the bags do not arrive with you, you will be able to continue on your safari while the airline finds them If bags get misplaced at the airport

We hope you don't lose your bags, but this happens sometimes. If your bags do not show up, do the following:

Report the problem to your air carrier inside the airport at the Baggage Claim before passing the CUSTOM and fill out the required paperwork. Request compensation for your inconvenience (often $50.00 for emergency purchases and a bag with simple toiletries and a tee shirt). Ask them when they expect the bag will arrive and tell them where you will be based on your itinerary. Leave the keys with the airline so they can clear the bags through customs. Ask the airline to go with you to advise Customs Officer that bags were lost so there will be no problems further in getting your bags cleared when they arrive. Inform our staff so we can work with the airline to get your bags to you at the earliest convenience.
