What's this trip about?

The Inca world, past and present. Cusco, the Urubamba Valley and Machu Picchu are our focus. We start with the incredible museum collections in Lima, then head to the Andes into the heart of the Inca empire. We explore Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, San Salvador, Pisac ruins and town, Chincheros market, Moray, and Ollantaytambo village and fortress. Our best-for-last treat is a 3-day / 2-night stay at Machu Picchu on this Peru luxury tour. Why so long in Machu Picchu? The better question is, why do others explore this Wonder of the World for so little time? If you had a week you might just be able to discover the depth and breadth of this fascinating and mystical site on the mountain saddle. Our three days allow for a guided tour of the main ruins, hikes to Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, Temple of the Moon, Sun Gate, the Inca bridge and more, plus private exploration to remote corners of the ruins at your own pace.

Adventure with a Conscience

We are proud to be one of the first adventure travel companies whose corporate mission statement expresses principles of ecotourism. We are committed to increasing the awareness of human responsibility toward the environment; to working with conservation organizations to protect the animals, plants and artifacts of the special places we visit; and to supporting the local economies by employing local associates who share our vision. As an INCA traveler you participate in sustainable pleasure in the wonders of our world.

The Galapagos Conservancy

We have a long partnership with the Galápagos Conservancy—we operate the Conservancy's annual Galápagos cruise, we support their work, and our guests have made significant contributions to the ongoing scientific research projects and local education programs organized and supported by the

Galapagos Conservancy.

Formed in 1986, the Galapagos Conservancy has its roots in two organizations that merged in 2002: the Darwin Scientific Foundation, an organization which managed an endowment for research in Galapagos, and Charles Darwin Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Galapagos conservation. The Galapagos Conservancy is dedicated exclusively to the long-term protection of the Galapagos Islands. This single focus allows them to maximize the impact of the financial investments of their members, who include individuals and institutions that care deeply about the Galapagos Islands and understand the scientific importance of preserving this extraordinary ecosystem. They advocate through programs of constituency building, education, and fundraising in North America.
