Itinerary
We’ll pick you up in either Tucson or Phoenix and take you on a short hike to view petroglyphs, drive to a scenic overlook of Tucson, and take in the Sunset from a mountain pass.
The Butterfield Stagecoach as we make our way to historic Tombstone and the OK Corral. We’ll take in a re-enactment of the historic gunfight and stroll the dusty streets before heading to Bisbee, an old mining town turned artist colony. After touring an old Copper Queen Mine on rail cars – as if we’re beginning our shift – you’ll have time to explore local galleries and sample the local cuisine.
Today’s focus is the awe-inspiring beauty of the Catalina mountains. We’ll head out for a day hike, enjoy waterfalls, and maybe even soak in rain-fed pools if the weather cooperates. That night we’ll head into the Quinlan Mountains for guided stargazing at the Kitt Peak Observatory.
We’ll make our way towards the New Mexico border to explore the isolated and historic Chiricahua Mountains where Geronimo and the Apache hid from the Army. We’ll hike among the hoodoos and visit unique rock formations before returning to Tucson in the evening, stopping at our favorite taco stand along the way.
After breakfast, we’ll head out for a hike to view pictographs and Saguaro cacti. We’ll then head south to visit the historic 17th century San Xavier Mission, located on the Tohono O’odham Reservation. Here you’ll have the opportunity to shop for native crafts and buy frybread from the local food stalls.
Shop for souvenirs, tour the UofA campus, visit the Ansel Adams archives, or stroll through downtown before departing for home.

Tour Operator
We focus on small groups, unique itineraries, and intimate local cultural experiences. We are a Veteran owned business and our guides are among the most experienced in the industry.
"When founder and lead guide Kevin Rosenberg sold Gear To Go Outfitters in 2018 he took his adventure travel offerings with him and started International Adventure Guides in 2019. Kevin has been a professional guide since 2009 and has been featured on ABC News, The New York Times, The Science Channel, Backpacker Magazine, New York Magazine, NBC Today, and more.
WE BELIEVE IN PRIORITIZING UNIQUE ITINERARIES, SMALL SMALL GROUPS AND INTIMATE LOCAL, CULTURAL EXPERIENCES. International Adventure Guides (IAG) focuses on providing immersive experiences that are true “bucket list” adventures. By limiting the number of adventures to a few destinations, IAG has become experts on those regions with deep knowledge on the specific destinations and itineraries curated for its customers.
WE BELIEVE IN FOSTERING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND RESPECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT. IAG is dedicated to only serving small international travel groups, limiting group size to 12 guests and 2 guides. These small groups are able to develop new connections, but do not feel like they are lost among a crowd of others. Additionally, small groups allow IAG to remain committed to the Leave No Trace ethos – minimizing impact to both the environment and sensitive cultural areas.
WE BELIEVE IN PROVIDING OUR TRAVELERS WITH A WIDE RANGE OF EXPERIENCES, GUIDED AND UN-GUIDED. IAG recognizes that the customer’s experience on their travels with us is paramount. In addition to providing its guests with an exclusive adventure in amazing destinations, there is ample free time, both on the trail and in the city, to have time for personal adventure and discovery."
Organizing adventure travel. Unique local knowledge and expertise about your destinations. Connecting travellers to locals and authentic experiences
We are known for planning and leading true bucket list adventures in both the Nordic region and the USA. We take the time to interview our guests and plan the adventure of their dreams, not ours.
