Founded in:

Senior Discovery Tours is the company you hoped existed. We manage the details so you enjoy the destinations.

Founded in 1975, we’re Canada’s largest operator of guided tours for the mature traveller, offering more than 100 different international tours and cruises that deliver outstanding service, value and discovery.

1. Experience freedom from care

The comment we hear most from our travellers is how carefree our tours are. We manage all the details, big and small, so you can enjoy your holiday without any of the hassles normally associated with travel. Flights, hotels, meals, baggage handling at hotels, transportation and sightseeing excursions are all included. And in most Canadian cities, we’ll even pick you up and drop you off at home.

2. Tour Managers you can count on

Our travellers always rave about our Tour Managers. They attend to every detail, ensuring your trip runs smoothly. For instance, at hotels they’ll check you in and out, tip the staff on your behalf and keep track of your luggage. Their energetic approach to travel enlivens every tour, and their experience prepares them to gracefully and expertly handle unexpected situations. Our Tour Managers are also expert at creating a positive group dynamic so that everyone enjoys a great sense of camaraderie.

3. Enjoy a more leisurely trip

Most of our multi-stop tours stay in each locale for at least two days, and our “stay-put” holidays allow you to settle into one or two hotels for the entire duration of the tour. You’ll have plenty of time to explore, shop and take it all in at your own pace.

4. Put your mind at ease

On most tours, daily breakfast and dinner, and sometimes even lunch, are included in the price. Most meals are pre-arranged so you never have to worry about finding a restaurant in a strange place. As well, all of the hotels we use have been personally inspected to ensure quality and value.

5. No surprise costs

The price of every tour covers all costs, including all taxes, travel insurance, tipping, baggage handling at hotels and of course pre-arranged excursions and entertainment (which other tour companies charge extra for). The price is guaranteed in Canadian dollars and there are never any hidden surcharges.

Cancellation policy

Those who choose to decline our comprehensive insurance package will be issued a rebate on their tour cost, the amount to be informed by your Tour Consultant. The following schedule of cancellation penalties applies only if you have declined our insurance package, or if you cancel a tour for a reason not covered in our insurance package (applies to tours without a cruise portion. Cruise penalties may vary).

Cancel 61 days or more prior to departure: $75.

60 days to 31 days prior to departure: 25% of tour cost.

30 days to 8 days prior to departure: 50% of tour cost.

7 days or less prior to departure: 100% of tour cost.

Please note that our cancellation insurance policy does not include “upgrade to single accommodation” in case your partner cancels. In this case you may either pay the single supplement and travel as a single, or cancel the tour and receive a full re- fund, less the $75 administration fee. Also, while our cancellation insurance policy covers the partner of a person cancelling, it does not cover their friends who are not sharing accommodation with the cancelling party. If you must cancel your tour you must notify us within 48 hours of learning that you are unable to travel, otherwise the cancellation insurance policy is null & void.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance alongside your travel package to safeguard against unforeseen circumstances such as medical expenses, trip cancellations, and other contingencies. It offers you peace of mind and ensures you are prepared for unexpected events that may occur before or during your journey
