What's this trip about?

Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours has meticulously crafted the original Band of Brothers Tour that follows the path of Easy Company. This is the ORIGINAL Band of Brothers Tour and is based on the first-hand and personal recollections of the paratroopers and the extensive research of Stephen Ambrose, his colleague, Captain Ron Drez, and Chris Anderson, former editor of World War II Magazine. The Original Band of Brothers tour is an experience unparalleled in its accuracy. You will stand in the very foxholes and precise locations where Easy Company fought in some of the most climactic battles of World War II. There will be some free time to relax, shop and do your own exploration in some of Europe’s most charming villages and city while evenings will be spent over delicious dinners where you can recount the day’s events with your fellow travelers. Start the tour in Atlanta (our 15-day tour), where you will visit the Easy Company’s training grounds at Currahee before a trans-Atlantic flight to London (round trip, trans-Atlantic airfare included on 15-day tour). Or meet the group in London (13-day tour), a great option for guests wanting to explore London before the start of the tour.

Stephen E. Ambrose founded Stephen Ambrose Historcal Tours. The author of several best-selling books, including Undaunted Courage, co-writer and executive producer of the epic HBO series Band of Brothers, and founder of The National WWII Museum, Dr. Ambrose led his first tour, D-Day to the Rhine, in the late 1970s with his friend Peter McLean when he was a professor at the University of New Orleans. His passion for teaching Americans about their nation’s heritage and her heroes motivated him to found Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours along with his niece Dr. Edie Ambrose, her husband, Yakir Katz, and Stephen’s son, Andy Ambrose.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ambrose led many trips to the places that he wrote about, which was a natural extension of his enthusiasm for investigating history. Whether visiting Omaha Beach with D-Day veterans to pay homage to the fallen, following the path of Lewis and Clark down the Missouri River, or tromping the battlefields of the Civil War, he sought to enlighten, entertain, and educate with his tours.

Today, Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours carries on his legacy, continuing to preserve and expand the carefully conceived and executed historical itineraries inspired by his life’s work.
