Tour Operator
Alaska Outdoors is an outdoor adventure tour company operating exclusively in Alaska since 2001. We are a family owned and operated business headed by an owner operator who has been leading outdoor expeditions since 1988.
Since the beginning, we have focused on providing unique, affordable adventure tours to travelers from throughout the world. We have led hundreds of outdoor expeditions throughout the state for thousands Alaska travelers. Since 2001, our guests have enjoyed well over ten thousand nights camping in the land of the midnight sun. We enjoy a perfect safety record.
Our success is due, in part, to our commitment to our guests as individuals. We understand that your decision to travel with us comes with great responsibility on our part. We understand that you are taking a trip of a lifetime and that it is our responsibility to help make your experience as outstanding as possible within our sphere of influence. That is why we have made a conscious decision to stay small, despite the growth in our industry and the demand for us to expand. Almost all of our tours fill to capacity each summer and we commonly cannot accommodate everyone who would like to join us.
Alaska Outdoors is headed by the owner of the company supported by a general manager who has been with Alaska Outdoors since the beginning. Together, we go to great lengths to ensure that your questions are answered, that you are well prepared for your trip, and that logistics are handled professionally and comprehensively.
In our view, it’s not enough to be an excellent outdoor adventure tour company that serves the needs of our guests. We also believe that we have the responsibility to serve our environment by limiting the impact from our tours. We follow minimum impact camping procedures; (the owner is a certified Master Trainer of Leave No Trace); make concerted efforts to recycle (despite the challenges in remote Alaska); purchase from local, organic farms; and do the best we can to ensure that our tours minimize our impact on the places and people that are affected by our tour program.
Alaska Outdoors is a small, “boutique,” outdoor adventure tour company led by folks that truly care about your Alaska experience. We’re not perfect, but we work very hard to make sure that your vacation is all that you hope for and more. During our short, and very busy tour season, you will find us spending our days (and the days are very long in Alaska) fully committed to your Alaska vacation experience.
We invite you to do your research when planning your Alaska vacation. Our trips are not for everyone. But, we think that you will find that we are authentic and committed to our mission.
