Day 1: Benvenuti in Italia!

We highly recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Rome's vibrant atmosphere.

Morning/Afternoon

Arrive at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) before 9:00 am.

Your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport and after meeting your new friends, we’ll take included transportation to our boutique accommodations in Rome.

Evening

Enjoy an Italian meal in Rome at our opening dinner, get to know your fellow like-minded travelers, and begin to settle into Italy.

Day 2: The Green Heart of Italy

Wake up in Rome and enjoy a delicious breakfast with your new friends.

Keep exploring Rome's hidden wonders before heading to your home base in Umbria later in the afternoon.

Afternoon

Take included transportation to your new home base in the Umbria region of Italy. (~3 hour drive).

Explore the sustainable farm you'll be living in for the next 5 nights with your Italian hosts.

Evening

Enjoy an authentic dinner made with locally sourced products right from the region.

Feel free to indulge in some delicious Italian wine.

Day 3: Wine Tasting in Perugia

‍Morning

Wake up in the Umbria countryside and start your day right with a typical Italian breakfast.

Head to an authentic local winery which has been run by the same family for generations.

Learn more about Italian wine and its methods of vinification.

Afternoon

After tasting world-class wine, explore Perugia, Umbria’s capital well known for its chocolate products and the world famous painter Perugino.

Discover the town's Medieval past by wandering around IV Novembre square or stroll around its secret small alleys.

Enjoy an Italian dinner made from locally sourced ingredients at the farm.

Day 4: Gubbio & The Frasassi Caves

Morning

After another delicious breakfast, take included transportation to the tiny and medieval town of Gubbio.

Visit the town and head to Piazza Grande which has a great view of the valleys and its palaces.

Wander the streets and alleyways, or visit Gubbio’s cathedral

Afternoon

Before heading back to your home base, visit the Frasassi Caves in the neighboring region of Marche.

Explore the Frasassi Caves – the most remarkable cave system in Italy where you can admire the stalactites and stalagmites in an underground tour.

Evening

Relax at your sustainable farm home and experience another delicious dinner with your friends.

Day 5: Marmore Waterfalls

Morning

Enjoy a healthy breakfast and depart for the Marmore Waterfalls.

The Marmore Waterfalls is the Europe’s highest man-made waterfall built by the Romans in 271 BC!

You’ll spend half a day exploring this beautiful place and enjoying some great views of the waterfalls. It’s the perfect place to go on a hot and sunny day!

Afternoon

Have lunch at Marmore and keep exploring the secrets of this beautiful place.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the farm and enjoying the swimming pool.

Evening

Enjoy another homemade dinner at your farm house while indulging in some delicious Italian wine.

Day 6: Assisi & Italian Cooking Class

Morning

After a delicious local breakfast, gear up to explore Italy’s most famous little town, Assisi, the home of St. Francis.

Learn about the town’s history and visit the Basilica or reach the old castle built on a hill to take in the stunning views.

Afternoon

Have lunch in a restaurant in Assisi, or grab a takeaway focaccia or pizza while enjoying a great view.

Head back to our farm stay and immerse yourself in Italian culture and cuisine with a cooking class.

Your Italian Chef will teach you how to make fresh pasta and bolognese sauce from scratch!

Evening

Enjoy your very own home cooked Italian dinner at the farm with your group.

Day 7: Arrivederci Italia!

Morning

Wake up early and enjoy your last Italian breakfast in the countryside of Umbria.

Take included transportation to Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) and enjoy the views along the way (~4 hour drive).

Be sure your flight back home departs after 2:00 pm.

Ask your Trip Leaders for suggestions if you chose to spend more time in Rome or around Europe.

,You'll be staying in a boutique hotel in Rome and in a sustainable ranch located in the Umbria region. The ranch is rustic, cozy and family owned perfectly situated in the Italian countryside. Please be aware that rooms in Europe can be smaller and don’t always provide a minibar, air-conditioning or a safe. Laundry is available at some hotels for an additional fee. Ask your Trip Leader for details. Accommodations may vary but will be the same quality. Solo travelers are paired with someone of the same gender. Private room options are available upon request subject to hotel availability (for an extra charge).

Transportation & Flights

You will be traveling mostly by private, locally-owned ground transportation throughout your trip. You may use public transportation in Rome to get around the city quicker. All Under30Experiences trips are accompanied by experienced Trip Leaders. The goal of the Trip Leader is to facilitate an awesome experience and help our travelers have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are traveling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. You can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the countries visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects.
Cancellation policy

If you have an emergency cancellation that is less than 30 days before your trip, please refer to your travel insurance company as they may cover you for some expenses.

We are not able to transfer trips or hold experience credits within 30 days of the trip because we have already secured reservations on your behalf.
