Trip includes

    • 9 breakfasts – breakfasts are continental style and consist of breads, jams, cheese, yoghurt, coffee, tea and juices.
    • 9 nights accommodation in mainly 3 star apartments on a twin share basis. All rooms have ensuite facilities.
    • Rental of a Hybrid or Mountain Bike (usually TREK brand) for 9 days including luggage panniers (waterproof) and helmet
    • All transfers by ferry, bus and coach as indicated in the itinerary
    • Luggage transfer of your main suitcase from Split direct to Dubrovnik (this will not be available during the trip). Clothing and items required for the trip will be repacked into the panniers and carried by you.

Day 1 Arrive Split, transfer to Supetar on the island of Brac

On arrival at Split Airport you will be transferred by local bus and ferry (50 minutes) to Brac island where you will overnight. The remainder of the day is free to explore the town of Supetar and the surrounding countryside.

Day 9 Ferry to the mainland, bike through the vineyards of Peljesac Peninsula (22km/13.5mi)

The final cycle day begins with a transfer by ferry to the mainland at Pelješac. The cycle route meanders through the vineyards of Peljesac peninsula. Another ferry takes you from Trpanj to Ploce on the mainland where you will be picked up and transferred by car or van to Dubrovnik. Overnight Dubrovnik.

Requirements
The trip requires a good level of fitness to participate fully in the cycling. Daily cycles are between 5 and 45km/3 to 28mi on undulating terrain. There are some steep sections which may require you to dismount and push your bike for short periods. The cycling is on a combination of low traffic side roads with some crossings and short stints on higher traffic roads required. There are 2 options for cycling to Hvar Town - either with higher traffic on a road and tunnel or a steep cycle. The accent is on keeping a relaxed pace to take in all of the attractions, with time to stop, have a swim and take photos. Cycle helmet (provided with the bike), wet weather gear, sunscreen, sandshoes and sun hat.,
Travel Insurance
We require that you take out a personal travel insurance policy to cover against sickness, accident, loss of baggage, unexpected alterations to travel arrangements and travel disruption, emergency evacuation, cancellations, etc. A suggested policy is enclosed with these notes. If you take out an alternative policy, we need to be advised of the details. Please note: if you choose credit card cover, in our experience, this may not insure against high cost needs. For example; helicopter emergency evacuation. If you do decide to choose credit card coverage, please check all policy details thoroughly. You should always carry your travel insurance policy, emergency card and photocopies of your passport and cash cards with you during your trip.
Visa requirements
Visas are not required for citizens of Australia, Britain, Canada, USA and New Zealand for stays of up to 90 days. For all other nationalities and longer stays please contact the relevant embassy.Please note that if you travelling on to or from the Schengen area as part of your travels in Europe you can only stay in these countries for a maximum of 90 days within a 180 day period.
