Requirements
GRADE 2 - INTRODUCTORY TO MODERATE This trip involves 6 days cycling with daily distances between 25 and 55km/15.5 and 34mi usually along cycle paths and low traffic roads. There are some short stretches on some busier roads. The cycling is the lowlands during the two stages in the Camargue, while the stages north of Arles include some ups and downs, which are however quite easy to overcome. There is just one demanding slope towards Les Baux de Provence. The itinerary is mostly on secondary roads with low traffic; some short stretches on more busy roads are however inevitable, especially when going in and out of towns.*For safety reasons, we highly recommend that cycle helmets are worn during cycle sections. Bike helmet (provided locally), wet weather gear, sunscreen, jogging shoes and sun hat. Note that storage capacity is limited in cabins and we recommend you bring a soft luggage bag. A comprehensive gear list is provided in the pre-departure information provided on booking.,
Travel Insurance
We require that you take out a personal travel insurance policy to cover against sickness, accident, loss of baggage, unexpected alterations to travel arrangements and travel disruption, emergency evacuation, cancellations, etc. A suggested policy is enclosed with these notes. If you take out an alternative policy, we need to be advised of the details. Please note: if you choose credit card cover, in our experience, this may not insure against high cost needs. For example; helicopter emergency evacuation. If you do decide to choose credit card coverage, please check all policy details thoroughly. You should always carry your travel insurance policy, emergency card and photocopies of your passport and cash cards with you during your trip.
Visa requirements
Visas not required for citizens of Australia, Canada, USA and New Zealand for up to 90 days in a period of 180 days for all Schengen countries (see www.schengenvisainfo.com/schengen-visa-countries-list/ for countries part of the Schengen). Please ensure your passport is stamped on arrival in the Schengen area. For all other nationalities and for longer stays in countries covered by the Schengen Agreement (Australian New Zealand, Canadian and US passport holders), please contact the relevant embassy. Stays of longer than 90 days in the Schengen area require a long stay visa for the country you are spending most time in. However long stay visas are unlikely to be issued unless there is a valid reason (eg. studying in country). Unfortunately we cannot assist in obtaining visas for long stays due to individual country visa requirements.

No age restrictions
Additional Information
7 nights boat40% deposit required at time of booking - non refundable Must request helmet at time of booking (fee included in trip price) 2018 - there is a dietary supplement for gluten free/vegan diets. must invoice clients and collect in advance Info on meals from Erin:- Breakfast -white and brown/multi grain bread with butter, strawberry jam and marmalade (all on each table) -3 cereals - muesli, granola, and cornflakes -yoghurt usually with a range of flavours -cold meats which changed a bit each day (ham, salami, pate) -both soft and hard cheeses, which again varied slightly throughout the week -baguettes -cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce -range of fruits - bananas, apples, oranges, kiwi fruit, plums -tea, coffee and orange juice Lunch Make a pack lunch at breakfast using the above. There is enough baguettes for people to make 2 sandwiches. For all but one day (Day 2 or 7 depending on direction - the Discover the Camargue cycle) it is possible to buy lunch in a town if people don't want a sandwich. Snacks Every afternoon when the group arrives back on the boat tea, coffee and a snack is provided. Different snacks supplied were cake, biscuits or muesli bars. The fruit basket is always out - people can take fruit for the cycle or eat in when they return. We also stopped each morning between 10 - 11am in a town for a "coffee break" and in the afternoon. So there are opportunities to buy snacks if people haven't bought their own. Dinners Dinner was always a 3 course meal. Bread, a carafe of water, and salad were always included on the table. Tea and coffee was available after dinner. Local wines, beer and soft drinks were available from the bar (3-4 euro for beer and most spirits, wine was 12-18 euro, champagne for 25 euro, soft drinks were about 3 euro). There were 3 tables set up - 2 for 6 people, and 1 for 8. We were encouraged to move around and sit next to different people each night, which my group did. Day 1 -Onion soup -Beef Provencal (like Beef Bourgogne but with local wine) Veg option: cous cous, asparagus and hard boiled eggs -Tiramisu Day 2 -Pasta Provencal (tomato and herb sauce with olives) -Broccoli quiche and Cauliflower béchamel -pear with red wine sauce, and orange slice dipped in chocolate Day 3 -Crepes with Roquefort cheese sauce and walnuts -Chicken with baked potatoes and carrots Veg option: rice, baked eggplants and stuffed tomato -Chocolate mousse Day 4 -Courgette soup -Pork with baked carrots or veg option was carrots and rice. Both came with an egg-soaked and cooked bread -Creme brulee with lavender Day 5 -olive cake (sounds strange but was quite nice - it also had bacon for people who eat meat) -fish with green beans and rice -isle flotant Day 6 -mushrooms and tomatoes on toast (like bruschetta) -omelette and ratatouille -tarte tatin Day 7 -ham and melon, or just melon -paella with mixed sea food -birthday cake (the cake was for a diabetic man so was made without sugar, but was actually really nice)
