My wife and I had a wonderful trek in the Annapurna region

We are both 80 but fit and the route was designed to be less exacting than on our last visit to the same area. This allowed ample time to look at the flowering Rhodo...

Logistics

What's excluded

    • Travel to and from the start and end point of the trip (Wasserbillig and Toul)
    • Drinks including water (the tap water on the barge is not suitable for drinking)
    • Items of a personal nature
    • Entrance fees and excursions not specified
    • Tips - while tipping is not obligatory, it is customary to offer a tip if the guide and crew have done a good job. As a guide we would recommend EUR35-70 per person (to be distributed between the leader, captain and crew).
    • Travel insurance - mandatory

Accommodation

6 nights barge,
Requirements
INTRODUCTORY to MODERATE – GRADE 2 The cycling is introductory to moderate (2) grade with daily cycling distances from 15 to 55km (9.3 to 34mi) on undulating well graded roads and bike paths. The accent is on keeping a relaxed pace to take in all of the attractions, with time to stop and take photos. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets be included as a compulsory item on your equipment list. Bike helmet (provided locally or bring your own from home), wet weather gear, sunscreen, jogging shoes and sun hat. A comprehensive gear list is included in the pre-departure information provided on booking. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets be included as a compulsory item on your equipment list.,
Travel Insurance
We require that you take out a personal travel insurance policy to cover against sickness, accident, loss of baggage, unexpected alterations to travel arrangements and travel disruption, emergency evacuation, cancellations, etc. A suggested policy is enclosed with these notes. If you take out an alternative policy, we need to be advised of the details. Please note: if you choose credit card cover, in our experience, this may not insure against high cost needs. For example; helicopter emergency evacuation. If you do decide to choose credit card coverage, please check all policy details thoroughly. You should always carry your travel insurance policy, emergency card and photocopies of your passport and cash cards with you during your trip.
Visa requirements
Visas not required for citizens of Australia, Canada, USA and New Zealand for up to 90 days in a period of 180 days for all Schengen countries (see www.schengenvisainfo.com/schengen-visa-countries-list/ for countries part of the Schengen). Please ensure your passport is stamped on arrival in the Schengen area. For all other nationalities and for longer stays in countries covered by the Schengen Agreement (Australian New Zealand, Canadian and US passport holders), please contact the relevant embassy. Stays of longer than 90 days in the Schengen area require a long stay visa for the country you are spending most time in. However long stay visas are unlikely to be issued unless there is a valid reason (eg. studying in country). Unfortunately we cannot assist in obtaining visas for long stays due to individual country visa requirements.
Age Requirements
No age restrictions
Additional Information
6 nights bargeEMAIL OPERATOR FOR CURRENT AVAILABILITY OR TO OPTION - they also send overview updates to Sydney office when a date becomes full but if you notice anything changed please advise Efti Nure (EFP). 1. Operator charges € 50,- extra for gluten and lactose diet (in products in FM with 5% margin attached) Vegetarian is without extra fee. Vegan is impossible, because of the lack of ingredients that are available along the way here... 2. Guests can stay on board if they don't cycle, or we can help them with the train and bus connection if they want to visit a city or something else along the way... 3. We work with professional guides and we demand an first aid certificat (they have an first aid kit for guest and bike with them) and knowledge of bike repair ( but we make sure that everything is done, so there are less as possible bike problems) Several of our guides also work for Eurosail and organize their own bike and hotel tours on request. 4. We don't want to promote e-bikes, because we see that more and more guests that are not able to bike think they we manage with an e-bike, but they forget that an e-bike is heavier and you still need good balance and bike reflex. but clients can rent them for the week.
