What travelers are saying

"Loved Montserrat, Albaicin, Toledo and the many cathedrals. Saw and learned so much about Spanish history and culture from our guides and while viewing the areas on our bus tour. So much to see and do in Barcelona and Madrid-glad we added extra day to each. Hotels were excellent! Angela Silvestre was a perfect instructional and caring guide!"

What travelers are saying

"A fabulous tour program very competently delivered by the guide Irina. The accommodation was generally good with only two hotels didn’t have lifts, requiring bags to be carried. It is difficult for persons travelling across the world for an extensive time in Europe after this tour to pack small bags suitable for just a two week holiday. If you have a restricted diet like gluten free you will be challenged in this country so I suggest you pack food to get you by as most hotels on the tour didn’t have any knowledge. Fortunately Irina assisted me greatly with navigating the menus and staff to a large extent and I did pack my own protein shakes and snack bars. The itinerary at the beginning of the tour needs updating by Explore. Please note the National Historical Museum in Tirana has been closed since the earthquake of 2019! And the BunkArt 1 was closed on the day our itinerary advertised it on the program ( apparently every Monday it is closed). Had I known that it would not be visited I would have gone myself in the few days before the tour started. I had particularly looked forward to these two highlights on the itinerary and was very disappointed. However, the rest of the itinerary was fabulous after a poor start. I might add this had nothing to do with the guide who was extremely professional. Many of us on tour became ill, including myself. DO NOT DRINK the water offered at hotels with cups of tea etc as I believe that the water was not heated to boiling point and therefore contributed to our illness. Fruit juices also had locally sourced water added at some hotels. If you are a tea drinker I highly recommend you bring teabags and a small travel jug and fill with bottled water as jugs are not provided in any hotels in Albanian. Being a coffee drinking culture, they have little knowledge of how tea drinks, other than Luke warm mountain tea. Overall, despite these issues the guide Irina and our driver Faarti were fabulous and made the tour wonderful. Albania is a truly beautiful country with varying landscapes and spectacular mountain views. I felt very safe travelling in this country and found the people welcoming."

What travelers are saying

"Our tour director, Sian, was excellent. She kept us informed to what was happening and when. she gave detailed information about the places we were going to be visiting while en route. She even did a recap at the end of the trip of all the places we went to. Our 2 drivers, John and Gary, were superb. We drove hundreds of miles and arrived at each destination without a scratch."

What travelers are saying

"It was an amazing tour! Cara was very professional and made every one of our stops smooth and seamless. Titiziano our driver was excellent, and I couldn't image how he was able to maneuver his bus! All of the great stops gave us a real sense of the Italian culture. The only improvement comment that I would make is that some of the hotels were NOT 5 star. The best hotel by far and the only 5 star resort in our opinion was our hotel Quinizana on Capri. One of the hotels, I believe which was in Umbria had such a dangerous bathtub to take a shower in. I felt like I was going to fall. This was a very potentially dangerous situation and was not safe."

England Tour Selection Trips

  • There are numerous accents in England and they vary tremendously by region, and sometimes town. Some are easier to understand than others, but people are generally friendly and don't mind repeating themselves if you ask nicely.
  • The English Countryside is famous for its beauty, and it’s well worth reserving a day to spend driving through.
  • London is one of the best walking cities around - so pack comfortable shoes!
  • English food gets a bad rap, but if you hunt around there are some gems to be found. From delicious pub fare like the classic fish and chips to more exotic Indian and Pakistani food.
  • Be prepared for damp and rainy weather! The sun doesn’t always like to come out in England, or the wider United Kingdom for that matter, so be sure to pack accordingly.

Additional details

Best time to travel to England

  • June-September, Summer, for the best weather
  • March-May, Spring, & September-October, Fall, for fewer crowds and moderate weather
  • November-March, Winter, for the fewest crowds

Summer is the peak season in England as most of the tourists plan their England tours from June to September. The days are long, and the weather is warm compared to the rest of the year. However, due to being a high tourist time, you will find every place crowded with people. You will also experience high rates for everything, whether it is accommodation or travel costs.

You can avoid the crowds a little by not going for public transport and renting a car instead. One special thing about summer is the various music and theatre festival going on throughout the season. Get into one of these if you find a chance, and have the real essence of the English culture.

The second most favorite time to travel to London is during spring and autumn. The weather becomes moderate during these times, i.e., March to May and September and October. Hit the weather sweet spot of the region while discovering the fascinating beauty of the royal parks and blossoming gardens.

Experience the beauty of spring flowers while enjoying the warm and usually dry days. And if you are visiting during fall, you will have the privilege to have the beautiful sight of the autumn leaves with their changing hues, making the surroundings more calm and soothing. The earlier you go in spring, the smaller crowds you will experience. But to have low crowds in autumn, you need to go by the latter half of October.

The cheapest time for England tours is between November to March, except for the Christmas holidays. You can find a fair discounted deal for air travel and accommodation, especially. Though various attractions like mountain areas, especially in the north, are closed during the winter due to snow and cold, the main cities are open completely.

This might be the coldest time of the year but has the minimum crowds, and you can enjoy some of the best opera, theater, ballet, and classical music offers and have a closer view of the English life. Arrive after the Christmas holidays and get the chance to avail post-Christmas sales offering fashion clothing, handicrafts, woolens, crystal, silver, and much more at the lowest prices. If you don't mind getting wrapped up in various layers of clothes, then winter can be a good time for budget travelers.

If you are planning to travel to England, you should always be prepared for the rain. Many people see it as a drawback and afraid that it can ruin their trip. But all you need is an umbrella or a raincoat to avoid your trip getting ruined.

English Weather

England has a relatively temperate climate and doesn't really have temperature extremes in winter or summer. However, it has a reputation for having grey misty days and drizzly weather round the year. So be ready for unexpected rain with an umbrella or raincoat during your England travel.

The notoriously unpredictable weather in the country is full of surprises for you. You might get a sharp, sunny, crispy day in cold winter, or can have a chilly rainy afternoon in mid-June. The temperature rarely goes below 2°C, even when winter is at its full bloom, or rise above 26°C during summer.

Do I Need a Visa for England?

England has a different visa policy for different countries. For most of the countries' citizens, it is compulsory to get a before landing on the England soil, even for tourism purposes. However, if you are US, Canadian, Australian, Swiss, EU, or EEA citizen, you do not require a visa and only need to show a valid passport to enter England for a stay of 6 months or less.

For the rest of the countries, it is required to apply for a visa before flying to England. You can check your visa requirement fromhttps://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa, where you put in your information, and you know whether or not you need a visa from your country.
